So do you think it would be best to harvest a day after the full moon or wait a couple weeks to get the new moon and metal-halide-like spectrums? The harvest moon happens to be on my birthday this year, the 4th.

harvest moon till quarter moon is a good time

I know when you plant a vegetable garden you plant above ground crops on the full moon & below ground level crops @ the opposite. It really does matter as i had planted onion sets on a full moon & they would be on top of the soil the next moring. The farmers almanac is $5 @ dollar stores & is well worth the money to find the best times to grow any garden out@ any region.

I just looked at the old farmers almanac online and according to the astrological timetable it said the best days to harvest aboveground crops are 23,24,25 of october.

Some are saying that waiting that 19 - 22 days would help future generations...I was wondering about that and...There are no males out there so why would I need to wait? I will end up going out next week sometime and if they aren't ready then I guess I'll go back another time. Eventhough my plants have been out since may 1 (transplanted clones (1mo old)) I still feel that they could use a couple more weeks..I realize these will be 184 days old tomorrow. Sounds ridiculous but thats a fact. Looks like I will be waiting until day 200.

Harvest moon got it's name because in times past farmers would be aided by the full moon's light to bring in crops, allowing them to work longer. Harvest when your plants are ready.

Here in Hawaii we rely on the Moon a great deal for planting as we don't have regular seasons... we can grow the kine anytime!
Most of us will wait til Full Moon to start seeds... Also we wait til full moon to harvest... Take cuttings after Full moon but before New moon...
