just a quick question, i have looked as much as i care to and not seen a thread pertaining to this yet so if there is one please just direct me to that thread and close this one.

is it ok to use close to equal 2700k temp lights with 6500k while vegging if i am on 18/6 cycle?
i am running 99w of 2700/3000k and 120w 6500k right now. i know that it is ok to run a 30/70 ratio of 2700/6500 while vegging but i was wondering if the near equal ratio would effect my veg stage in any way. again i am on 18/6 light cycle. thanks ahead of time for responses. rep will be given where appropriate.

you can run any ratio you want man. Optimaly you would use all or most 6500k for veg. but it isn't mandatory. Sounds like 70/30 would be fine and probably better than 50/50.

cool man, the only reason i am doing the near 50/50 right now is just to get some more lumens going on. am currently running 13940 lumens for my plant, going to add one more plant soon but it hsould be enough as long as i have over 5000 per plant i think im good. got all reflective surfaces as well as a very limited space so i dont think im losing much light, especially since the cfls can be so close...

More light at 50/50 is better than less light at 70/30.

hey folks please answer me this...do you recomend 1 cfl that is (105Wat 5000k full spectrum equivalent to 420watt ind) while maybe rotating the plants or maybe like 4 to 6 42Watt cfl's or even like 10 20Watt for vegging about 4 babys in a room the size of small bathroom...4x6x8height......thanx

you might want to make your own thread so someone might actually answer your question.... and there a number of variables to consider when trying to figure out you lighting situation

Of those choices I would go with multiple 42w cfls.

Look at it this way: In nature veg is in the spring and early summer when the sunlight is very blue with some red. Then as summer progresses and flowering begins, it shifts to about even. Then in late summer it becomes mainly red as harvest nears. That's the progression you want to duplicate, it is just easier to go from 70/30 to 30/70 when you go to 12/12 and that's what most growers seem to do.
