More Light... More Bud.. Myth or Fact?

im doing my first grow as per my signature guys... if you want to take a look..

anyway.. i heard the more light you have eg: 250watt vs 600 watt.. does it make a real big difference in bud density and size in flower mode?

im running a 400watt MH in a cooltube which is currently 10inches from the top of the plants... and i will plan to swap it over to a 600 watt HPS when i flower (at same height level) 10 inches... in two/three weeks time.. so i would like advise please.

if you want details on my setup etc then look at my link in my signature... wanted to keep this thread short.

when I started growing I used a sunleaves pioneer IV. I used it probably 4 grows, but when I switched to 400w hps my yields doubled.

i dont know about more (quanity), but it will make the buds you have more compact and larger/denser(sp), that still makes no sense to me what i wrote but i know what i meant.

So when i pop in my 600 Watt HPS from the 400MH i should expect a good yield in flowering yes?.. (from this type of light).. 10 inches away in a cooltube?

Definitely. If you have good genetics and balanced fertilizer you will get great nugs with a 600 HPS. Clean out the straggly branches that don't get any light and you will get bigger dense nugs on top that are easy to trim.

Hey guys!! I myself am using at the time being, IDK may add more, but will see... I am using 5 100wt CFL's & also a 600wt HPS grow light as well!! I am hoping to get a nice yield/big nugs as well!! I plan on adding a few more of the CFL's once I get my next pay check!! Well, I hope everyone ladies are doing well as for you too! ;-) Later, D...

More light does = more bud. That doesn't mean that you can't get the same donkey dicks you get with a 600w out of a 400w, because you can get the 400w closer to the canopy for the same or more lumens at canopy level. You just can't penetrate as far or have as much coverage with a 400w vs a 600.

There comes a point where more light is wasted, the point of diminishing returns.

The only thing more light fixes is a lack of light. That said, most indoor growers do have a lack of light compared to the sun.
