Morning vs afternoon sun question....

Does anyone know which our plants prefer?...I would think morning sun for vegetative growing....then afternoon for budding ,but does it really make a difference as long as it gets 6 hrs or so of light?

Mid day sun is of course the best. The smaller the shadow your plants cast the better the light. In my opinion morning sun is better than late day sun.I usually set up where they can get 9-10 hours of direct light minimum.

The sun provides a full spectrum of light and the amount of red you see during the late day will not make them bud better.During flower just make sure they get as much light per day as possible and you will be fine.

you should let your plants get at least a few hours of sun...but then again some strain are shade specfic where open sun will burn em to shit...peace

I've always read that pot is a full sun plant. That doesn't mean that it won't grow and produce in partial shade. But it will do better in full sun. Some times you need to plant in a place that has partial sun like between a fence and a building. So you can either plant it next to one structure and get more morning sun or the other structure and get more afternoon sun. I'd choose the location that gives the most security.

You really need to shoot for a minimum of 8 hours/day of direct light. Shade is no where near as good. But it does help when temps are high. As I said , I usually get about 10+ hours/day.

if i had to either have morning sun for 5 hours or afternoon sun for 5 hours, i would go with the morning. the dew on the buds in the early morning will need to be dried by the sun to prevent mold and bu rot. if your plant was in the shade untill 11 or 12, then that dew and moisture will be covering your flowers increasing the probability of mold. 5 hours of direct sunlight is doable. mine rarely get that. peace

from my research two years in arow. 1st year planted two clones from same mother planted one in the morning sun from sunup till two in the afternoon and the 2nd one in the sun from two in the afternoon till sunset. what i got was the 1st one in the morning sun grew taller but the 2nd one was shorter but the 2nd had fater buds and carried more weight, the 1st one in the morning sun had less weight and buds were runer and not as thick. the 2ndyear i started 2 fem seeds of same strain put one in the morning sun and one in the afternoon sun. I got the same thing the one in the morning sun was taller the one in the afternoon sun was shoter but in the end the one in the morning sun had thiner buds and the one in the afternoon sun were fater and it had more bud weight. me and my freinds all say the ones in the afternoon sun were more potent and had a better taste
