my baby chicks finaly arrived. What a crew!!! I ordered 40 and ended up getting like 120 cause the post office messed up. Alot of them didnt make it cause they got shipped on a holiday weekend and it took an extra day. the ones that made it are now strong and full of spunk and what a variety. My hubby had to build a bigger cage for them all, i must be crazy:)

yea Araucana are green or blue egg layers, witht he kids i always have some, they love the eggs!!! One of the wrong orders i got was actualy 25 females!!!! I should have alot of variety and many of them are feather footed and very beautiful.

Having this many id alot of work and the hubby had to build a huge pen for them in my house cause till they are about three weeks old they need to be very warm 95 right now. Its alot of work changing bedding, food, and water three times a day. Not to mention for the first week you have to make sure the little butts dont get plugged up with shiot:)

no kidding i waited two years to get them again because i had the same problem! Now i have the dog pound and we have plans to modify the coop a bit. I once had a racoon rip the door right off the hindges to get to my chickens, got my favorite most friendly rooster cause he was trying to protect his girls. we got that one but im sure their are more

raccoons are some smart kritters...I ran the chicken wire about a foot into the ground, so they could not dig under and they still got in...I was breeding border collies at the time and had 3 grown collies and they were scared of the coons...I found a hole the size of a tennis ball where they getting in...

Thats totally cool!

I didn't know you could send chickens flat rate priority box...

The neighbor here has a pet rooster. It makes a nice pet for their daughter. She'll hug it and carry it around.
