mother plant medium ?

hi does anyone no what the best medium would be to keep a mother plant in i only ask because
a friend of mine is bringing me a clone of his uk cheese plant and i no this will be the only chance ill have to get my hands on one and id like to keep it for as long as possible

Compost/soil, in my opinion. Easier to maintain.

Geta nice compost one with no added feed mix a little perlite in 80/20perlite and put in a nice pot you will have to keep topping the plant to keep her in order but soil is the easyest.inever keep my mother plants for no more than about 6 month then i clone her to death.put all the other plants that you took of her in veg then flower them i always keep at least 2 back just for a couple of week see whicth is gonna be the best for cloneing in the future.and i bang the other in with the others on 12/12 off.
