Motherplant -> Clones -> Sea of Green

Hi DST, thanks for making me realize that I thought about topping too late.
I would actually like to take out this 400 and throw in 3 T5 Fluorescents. Expect to see that hanging next post...

To answer your questions:

How far have you got that 400 away from them?
80 Centimeters.

How often do you water?
once and sometimes twice a day depending on how the soil feels.

Are they using much water?
All 10 plants together drink 5 Liter every 4-5 days.

whats the temps/rh at lights on?
25.5 Degrees Celsius / Humidity 33-39% (I know it should be higher for Veg... Got no gear to do it though... Maybe throw in a pot of water and just let it chill there between the plants?)

Great looking setup. And as for topping Look into the uncle bens topping tech. its posted here

best of look deff be back to check in...
The whole point of sog is no vegging. Once the clones develop root you immediately fruit. You don't really top sog clones since they dont veg at all. After 1-2 weeks the clones have roots and you immediately place them in 12/12 lighting. Topping requires 1-3 weeks of vegging. In that time you're plants may be too large to do a true sog grow opp.

Don't worry Ronjohn, I'm only topping the mothers to get more clone-able material.
The actual clones will be treated as you described.

Hoi Kerel,

Here's some opinions from me.

Each plant is using about 100ml of water a day (not a massive amount to be honest but that should pick up)

I would advise you to stop water so much. Water once every 2 days I think is enough. Lets your roots go looking for water which will not happen if you are watering every two minutes.

Your temps are fine but get the RH up, that is for sure going to help, I think that is whats making them look quite droopy. Although you got a good temp the dry air is not going to help.....are you sure you are in Holland, lol _ i have never seen my RH so low, lol.
I would boil a kettle in there a couple of times a day, and stop extracting air out of the room while you are doing this. Or have a bowl of water sitting on a heat source in the tent. The heat source is important so that the water is evaporating into the air quicker, otherwise you will not see much of a difference.

These are just some suggestions, everyone has their own way. Good luck.

i agree zero veg you could actually do more like 34 to 36 in a square meter small single cola plants each one giving you a good 14g thats close to 1 lb a harvest dont know why someone would say bigger plants bigger yield sog is not high plant yield but high plant volumes 32 smaller colas add up quite fast. i got a plant thats 5.5 feet and 3.5 feet wide and there is no way she will yield what a sog grow would in your space. 600w hps would be a perfect light for that space and a good sog grow co2 and you would have your mind blown for sure anyway cant wait to see it in action whatever you choose GL on the op man.

Agreed. Smaller is better. You get better light penetration and overall better yields. Everything you grow is top quality dank i.e. top cola. In any case, the only advantages big plants have are they look impressive (it's what people think of when they think of pot plants) and legally speaking its less jail time if you get caught with 5-10 plants verse 80 little ones. Some states weight your total plant mass when determining punishment and others do it by plant count.

Sounds great... I'll definitely experiment with the SOG-ing...
Can't wait to get my clone on...
I'll be posting pics of it once it's there... Untill then I'll be perfecting the mothers...
I just FIMM-ed some. And I hope I did it correctly... If so there's gonna be way more clone-eable material.
Thanks for the input!

Heh, yeah.. The light penetration will be very nice...
Lots of small self-made clones is the way to go...

Thinking about Babylon punishing me for growing some herb scares the hell out of me...
If whine-growers can get respect for their craft and sell their product world-wide, why can't we?
Awell... More pics comming up soon as the mothers get their groove on.

everything others are saying isn't bad advice at all.

To throw in some other thoughts:

When I fim (I've started supercropping more lately) I fim the main growth shoot. This will prompt all side growth to take off (basically it makes them think the top is gone and they start producing growth hormone). I haven't actually fimmed the side branches, but it might not have as strong an effect if the main top is still putting off hormones (try it and see though...). With mothers, you mostly just want a lot of branches, so anything to encourage side growth is good (fim, top, supercrop, lst, etc). Also taking clones causes a lot of branching in the long run. Really the key is just to have enough branches to get enough clones, it will branch a lot over time as you take more and more of them from it.

As far as sog, my experience is that some strains work better than others. Some won't grow at all in veg and straight clones have crappy yields. Some will grow for a week or so in veg and work very well in zero veg sog. Some breeders will tell you if the strain works well insog/scrog, or how well it responds to topping/lst.
