move closer the the HPS?

have 2 babies in the box with airflow now they are about 6 inches tall they look like they are reaching up to the light to hang on it like it is a set of monkey bars straight up they are not hanging down i have a 70 watt hps about 8/10 inches away i just moved the light down to 5/6 inches away i have a little fan blowing on them and the light they look like they are dancing in there i feel the heat on the back of my hand but it is not hot it is warm kinda was down there about a minute or so but i got tired of that keep the light as is or move back up

that sounds good. if their is a way to put your thermometer right under the light and at plant hight, that will give you an accurate temp. the whole time.

Good advice. A hygro-thermometer (both temp and RH) are about $6 at your local box store. Put your mind at ease.

ok i dont have a thermo now i will let it go until i get up in the morning you think that is cool or just stay up 2 or 3 hours and see what they are doing there in it if it is bad what should i be looking for?

i built my box out of an old trunk dont know a local box store to get the thermo does kmart or walmart have one? if so what is it again a hygro thermometer would it be called that at one of the other places

buy this and place it by the plants what if i cant get it right up to the top put at the bottom maybe i can clip it down from the light to the tops of the plants and if i can i think i can with some paperclips or something like that if i get near the tops of the plants what should the temp be 70-78 degrees or so? what should i do tonight just let it ride like it is or raise the light back up? i could stay up about 2 hours or so and see what happens between now and then if it is bad what will i be looking for? if good what then should i see?

stick a plant stake in your plant and hook it to that.

i have 2 70w hps' on my one white widow about 7-9" away and it's not burning, just have fans blowing around the top area and you'll be good

70watt hps moved to 5/6 inches from the tops was 8/10 inches from them did this 2 days ago they were pretty then they are still pretty but the very tips were yellow this morning and when i got home they were burnt now much up the leaf just the tip of them i raised the chains on the light back up to 8/10 do any of yall think that was it the light was to close?

Just the tops were tipped brown or all the leaves from the bottom up?

it just started doing it today earily morning before i went to work but yes it looks as if all of them will end up that way can see yellow forming on some of the other leaves

if u have fans blowing at the cola it should be fine, it was for me but i had a huge fan blowing at it with 2 little side fans and it wasnt that hot
