Lol yeah everytime I go to water I remove the barley straw/fan leaf mulch and water the soil with my chapin sprayer.
Is it necessary? Or can I just spray over the straw layer? I feel like the water doesn't go in evenly when I leave it on, but it takes a long time to remove the stuff, water, and put it back.

Do you water over mulch or move mulch and water under?
