Their first weeks of life they are pretty well immobile and helpless, not that they arent scared. There only defense, which I find fascinating, is the lack of any scent for predators to detect. Mom will find a secure spot to birth, and hope for the best in those first weeks
We are over run with deer. But as the numbers go up, so do the number of coyotes. Their numbers are always going up and down as the food sources increase or decrease.

I do hunt a little in Winter, but have killed far more in the pea patch than the tree stand.
