MR NICE vs SENSI NLXHAZE

Which would you prefer Mr Nice or Sensi NL x Haze and why? Mr Nice is reg, Sensi is reg or fem I believe. I don't want to do much pheno hunting. Thanks

There's a grower in mrniceseed grow forum who grew out both to see which is which. The title of it is the same as this one I think.

Yes and that thread over at MNS is really misleading as it shows Sensis Version as vastly inferior..which it isn't.
Maybe the guy was unlucky, who knows.

I recommend Sensi, I found a pheno in their packs which is so vastly superior to anything I had grown before it's not even funny.
I still wait to see such a NL5xHz-plant from any other breeder.
One seed didn't germinate though, so germination could be a problem, dunno.
Sensi's NL5xHz isn't that pricey for nothing I guess, really great great stuff.
Don't you think they would drop their price if it wasn't?
Get with the original.

Both are great. I have grown both and they are both stellar. I have a 15 pack of the Mr. Nice in the vault. You can't go wrong here. Buy Mr Nice and you will save money and get more beans without sacrificing a thing.

If there was anything misleading about the thread Id seen it. But there weren't. U were lucky to find wat you were looking for and he didn't find anything in sensi's line that was to his liking. Every one has different likes...not everyone will like the same pheno. And u also said sensi had the original...I don't think so. They don't even breed their own seeds anymore or grow. I'd like to see a pic of sensi's mother plant that they have now and not the pic of nevil's mother plant that they continue to use.

A valid point, true, as I said I could've just been lucky! Then maybe you should get both versions and do another comparing run, would be great.
..tbh none of the plants at that specific thread looked that impressive to me, especially the Sensi looked as if it didn't get much love..anyway, I have seen great pics from other grows of both sensi and MNS version.
I just didn't see my pheno, only people searching for it
Most breeders have outsourced the seed production, who cares, it's the genetics and they seem to still have that NL5, otherwise it would be intentional misleading marketing, which I doubt.
The real NL5 is what makes this strain special imo.

It's the original, isn't it?
Well the seed bank released it, but isn't sensi it's modern reincarnation?
No pun intended, but after researching the best I could I consider Sensi's version at least way more original than MNS.
You could ask anyone, NL5xHaze is strongly connected with the name Sensi Seeds, it was (and still is) one of their if not the flagship strain.

I wasn't very impressed with Sensi's NL5 Haze. High was sort of strong but not very pleasurable. Taste was pretty awful. Very tall plants with a gazillion leaves to clip off. Very airy buds. Ran through a 10 pack and didn't find anything worth keeping around. Not what I wanted for EXTREMELY high priced beans. Pack was bought maybe 3 years ago. Maybe they lost genetics and tried to recreate?

That's what some people claim, but I doubt it..it would be false advertising on a very high level. But who knows nowadays, this whole industry has become quite messy.
All I can say is that I really see the NL5 in there, the internode distance, the bud and the leaf structure (long-armed sun leaves, little resiny sugar leaves) if I compare pics, my guess is they still have the original NL5.
I completely understand that you expect more from a 10-Pack with such a pricing..for that pricing it shouldn't be so much of a gamble!!

All I can say is mine is the complete opposite: very tight internodes, great stretch while retaining the tight internode distance, very fast, strong weed, but nice very clear sativa high with a relaxing bottom end. You even feel the muscles in the legs relaxing in waves, it's quite weird sometimes.
The taste and smell is incredible, church incense, fruity, chocolate pine all at the same time.
One of the few strains which taste like they smell.
Very very high calyx-to-leaf ratio, kind of like the Lavender I have. The Buds are more golf-ball thank lanky, but airier than the uber-dense Lavender or other more indica-dominant strains.
It packs on weight at week 8-10 and is pretty much done by then.

I heard a lot of complaints that people say it's a lanky, airy sativa..I remember a thread where someone said that the Fems are more homogenous, shorter and more stocky in general.

Maybe the OP should buy a 3-Pack of Sensi Fems for fun (and less money) and a bigger pack of MNS Regs?

I see u feel strongly about sensi but the truth is they are supplied by seed breeders. Their mr nice isn't even the same. And u said something about real nl5.....maybe u haven't grew out mns Ortega. It's funny how successful a company is when they have worked strain breeders compared to what's going on now. Now everyone questions genetics and question companies. Sensi was great when nevil was their breeder. Greenhouse was great when shanti and nevil were the breeders. Like shanti always keep telling me. The truth is in the genetics.....Plant the seed!!!!

That's very much true, you're right!
Sensi Seeds was part of our youth, hemp museum, amsterdam wasn't that far away..and I found luck in their first pack of seeds, I really like them.

Well I bet there's a lot more breeding going on at MNS, I really don't know that much about that. Actually a friend is doing Ortegas right now, we really look forward!
The way I see it:
It's harvesting the old school stuff..I even bought the fems, I don't care, I still believe they have NL5 and they must have managed to find an acceptable haze for it, the important genetics is untouched, at least half of it, the NL5. And mine leans very heavily towards the NL5, which makes it special for me (I know a lot of people look for haze in the line)..like having an updated NL5, a piece of history.
Do you think the proclaimed NL5 from Sensi is another plant than the NL5 from back then? Maybe a backcross? I want to believe..not.

For sure!
It's not NL5 in the high, more in growth and the aroma is definitely not as hazey as those hazy phenos. Feels like a great blend though.
Maybe you could have a look at the pheno I found, is it rarer as the line seems more haze-dominant?
I really feel that this one is special, at least to me.
Mind you it's only 150W CDM.

This is NL5 x Haze at short of 60 days of flowering:
