I just finally received my cover crop seeds, coconut powder and Aloe powder. I have 10 gallon smart pots I'm going to put them in probably half way through next week. Saturday will be 7 weeks I transplanted them all out from solo cups to 3 gal pots at 3 weeks and 3 days. I will also get earth worms in tomorrow. 20160113_023310.jpg20160113_023248.jpg 20160115_005621.jpgThese 3 are NLXBB autos under a 600w at hps20160113_023138.jpg

that's a nice setup, i'd say 1200 watts is a bit overkill unless you double those ladies.
I run the same as you, a 600w hps, and a 600 w Mh
But i run usually 12-20 plants at a time.
Won't harm anything, just it's a lot of light that's not hitting plants
You'll LOVE the dual spectrum though, that's setup shits all over a 1200 w HPS setup

Sweet yeah my first grow seems to be going great for my first one knock on wood. Do you move the plants around to get both specs? If so how? Just push n pull em around? How often? I'll be growing a few more now that you've shared great info. Thanks.

Props on the first grow. 1200 is overkill, for a 4x4. I'd keep it at 600w hps or go to 1000w dual arc. I've had great results before with them. It's a 400W MH inside with a 600W HPS. I believe Plantmax makes them and they work in digital ballasts.

If your running 2 600w, you do have the proper ventilation right? And fan size?

Thank you, I still can't believe it haha. Their actually in a 8x4x6.5 tent. I've got a 6 in inline fan going completely through both hoods straight out the other side of the tent. I keep the outside window cracked and the hood heat seems to keep the garage at a good temp while the inside of the tent stays at 70's. I've got 600 watt solis tek dimmable ballests. I want to go to 2000 watt next round. I'm thinking 10 in fan with reducer down to 6in should keep em cool? Or get a portable AC and just have a heat/air scrubber exhaust.

My man...., I run solis tec also! I got 2 of the matrix w/remote. Very nice I must say, but I've noticed alot of flickering when using any bulb other than a HF (high frequency) bulb made by solis tec. I'm currently running plantmax and I can tell the bulb is not on par with the ballast.

You don't want to reduce any part of the ventilation system. If your at 6, stay at 6 or go to 8. Not the other way around!!!
It outs a strain on your equipment in the long run.

Your good for now with venting out, but for sure invest into an ac and scrub, add some co2 and controller equipment.... your on the pro level.

Thanks guys I appreciate it! I was talking about getting a 10 in fan with a reducer down to 6 in so itll fit my hoods. Is that possible? I'd like to go to 1000's.
