hah I might join in on this.

I've been playing guitar for a few years but I've progressed as if I've been playing my entire life.

I improvise guitar all day, I am only learning songs from tab 3% of the time. the other 40% I'm learning songs by ear, and the other 57% I'm improvising (literally playing from my head.)

I'm working on getting a fender body for a nice fender neck I have. right now it's on a cheap fender-copy that doesn't even line up right with the neck.

then my main solo/lead guitar is my Flying V due to it having a perfect fretboard.

I play reggae/rock/ska/punk so I guess I'll make a song like that soon and record it ;).

haha exactly what i was thinking.

that would be cool i platued a while ago only cuz i dunno how to teach myself...

yeah I'm pretty good at teaching. I know a ton of technical tricks that could probably make all of you play faster than you do now.

i play guitar. not good though =]. I dont under stand cords. how many are there?
How many chords? I've heard figures quoted around 20,000 and it wouldn't surprise me!

Back on topic though, i mainly play keyboards. I own a JV1080 and use a Korg X5 as my controller.
I also play guitars, i own a knockoff Les Paul and a Jackson RR3 coupled with a Marshall JCM2000 DSL full stack.
I can also play drums and bass but not too well.

I think guitar is the best when you look for the patterns within it.

100% of my improvisation is based on patterns. eventually these patterns become natural to you and you can figure out literally any song with them.

when u say patterns , do u mean different scales that u break down.. or just patterns u ur self make up!?
they're essentially the same thing.

I make up patterns, but these patterns exist as scales. so technically I'm not making up anything new, but rather figuring out existing scales.

there's a pattern that your fingers can follow that will allow you to hit most of the right notes improvising.

I use sliding as a way to hear what note is right, I slide up 12-14 frets and I hear all the right notes along the way. I eventually stop at the right note and play within the pattern.

the way I use my finger patterns I only need 1-2 right notes and I can figure out a scale and go off on a nice lead.

it's certainly possible to teach you guys how to do this, maybe I should make a video showing how I do it . . .

also, I do the same thing with chords too. it's just a little harder but you have to figure out the pattern as well.

Well, I play the guitar like everyone else. Also get down on some hardcore/gabber. Also produce rap beats and do some rapping.

I'm really more into the recording part of music than actually being a musician.
