My 1st Grow Completed! 8 plants, 5 months, 14 ounces dry!"

Thanks for the help 420. I will start a thread soon I just have to build my box and get started. Now I'm stuck with what lighting to use. I'm trying to decide if I want to do CFL's or HID, I'm using a dresser that is 45"x16"x36" (L x W x H). I'm thinking that around 300-400 watts should suffice but i'm not sure which is a better idea. I have a $600 budget. any help would be great.

He's no longer living in Amersfoort where he did while I was over there. He now lives in the dam about 5mins on bike form the Greenhouse he said, so you should hit him up so that you and the lads don't have to book a hostile when you visit. x

PS, I'm saying you need to start up asap tho haha. I already saved a couple hundred and it's only been like two weeks since I haven't bought bud bro!

Pff $600 will get you everything you need bro. And if you can run HID I'd do it over CFL, but if you can't run HID than CFLs will do for sure.
That call is on you boss. With $200 will easily get you WHATEVER HID lighting you need. $150 will get you EVERYTHING you need to go organic(which is the EASIEST way to grow. Another $100 will get you a NICE order from Attitude Seedbank.

Yea it looks like I'm going to be growing with HID's but would heat be an issue in such a tight space? I was looking at a 6" cooltube setup with a dimmable ballast. So I'm thinking about growing under a 250W MH for veg and then 400W HPS for flowering, will that work or should I just run 400 all the time?

Heat won't be an issue if you can get a cooltube package bro!
But if you can't get a cooltube, HID won't be an option in that confined of a space boss!
You should get the 600w dimmable if your gonna go HID and dimmable! I say so because everyone I've asked has told me that I need to go 600, which I will be doing before the summer and the next run!
And MH is the best for veg, but you can do a marvelous job vegging with CFLs as well brother

Ps you should start with eBay and Amazon for you HID lights.

Ok,Damn it threw playing around,just put alot under a few 1kmhs too Vegg for 3 weeks.
This would make em Rt at 40-45 days vegg! Most are skunk genes and gonna be shortys,So im tying them bitches down,Bondage Style!
Hopefully by then i can flip and get a good yield,Will sacrifice tho for a roadkill Skunk pheno.My neighbors got some tht are turning Blue but there in Flower!! 5 weeks.

And when do you start counting veg days bossman? Like I start after the first transplant, which is usually between 14-21 days.
I do so bcuz I consider them still seedings prior to that first transplant.

And damn man. I just spilled some AACT in the grow room and you know I garden on carpet
Luckily it fell over into the bucket of soil I have sittin around waiting to be re-done. Some got on the carpet but I soaked it and hit it with some shit to make sure it doesnt stain!
I take it as my god and my plants telling me thanks but no thanks. Maybe another time haha..So that's what it'll be!

I'm harvest twice this weekend tho baby!!! That White Widow is CHUNKING up! She's definitely wearing 3 zip! Also a NICE coat of purple that's just getting deeper and DEEPER! I bet the 2nd gen widows are gonna give me outstanding coloration boss! And what's crazy it that out of the 4 Seedsman White Widows that I've popped, the phenotype has been the exact same growth wise it seems. Like the leaves on all of them look identical pretty much.
Does that mean anything to you or nahh??

As soon as they pop there veggin,And as soon as i flip is Flowering.
Dont really matter tho as my scope does the talking.
As far as when I flip,I go by mostly size and strain.
2ft is what i shoot for!On indys,varies on the Sativas.

I was under the impression that you don't count the seedling stage..
And from now on I'll be judging by size when I flip also.

So...

I just jarred 1 zip and 3 quarters , of Nirvana"autoflowering"Bubblicious!
The buds were manicured a lot closer and they dried out nicely I feel! All of the stems snapped when bent and even a couple of those on the 2 or 3 smaller buds snapped, suggesting those few probably shoulda been jarred yesterday...

But I jarred once ounce top buds, and 3 quarters of medium sized and smaller buds that i chopped off along the lower halves of the colas.

I'm very pleased with that that weight given the fact that I'm 99% sure she's wearing another ounce at this point, with the rest of the week to go!

So.....

So far from my first 1 1/2 plants I've harvested one gram short of a cutie pie haha! 3 ounces 27 grams in the bag.

If I get a pound, I'm gonna have the OG homie Beech change the title of this thread to"I Put It Down And Got A Pound The First Round" hahahaha!

Nice job man, once I get my dresser build I was hoping to do two plants and get maybe zip or two. I wish i had the space like you do to give it a solid try, but that will be when i move into a new house as this one doesn't have any hidden space of this size. Congrats 420 and enjoy the fruits or your labour!!!!

Ha your not the only one I got on my back to start up! Scott has already scoped out the loft and decided it would be perfect - but attic grows are the quickest way to get the police knocking on your door!

I just booked some flights over to Amsterdam for my birthday actually - staying in the greenhouse ha! I'll hit daryl up though.

Around here were aiming for at least 2 a plant haha. That's for right now since its the first run.
second run should be 4 a plant haha and we'll build in that! So expect more bro, but put the work in!
If u wanna increase you're yield or pull a nice yield off indoor with limited space, you got LST.
Thats a must bro! You gotta keep ur lasses tight to the pot. You should also look into topping and FIMing.
Everything I've done to my girls is documented, so there's help in the beginning of the thread if u need more boss man.

Appreciate ya homie! I'm JUST gettin' my feet wet! And I have to say I'm in love with the possibilities.
I'm pretty sure I buffalo soldier in my last life haha

I'm just shooting for a lower yield that way when it ends up being larger that expected I'll be stoked. Don't worry I've been doing so much research and reading that my head is going to explode, but I can't stop reading because it is so interesting I just want to learn more. So far my plan is to do LST, F.I.M, and SCROG when I start flowering. I should have a thread up in the next few weeks, I just have to get my ass to the hardware store and pick up the remaining things for my grow box.
