Take this time to invest in a HID setup for flower... It's ok, that you will not flower with CFL's, if you had in an alternate reality, your alternate self would thank me. :)

I still use cfl shit i bought for my first run through for my veg area, its not a waste of money initially. But I am dead serious about flowering with nothing less than a 400 watt hps.
some people have flowered very successfully using CFLs there are several videos on youtube showing this.HIDs can create some problems in small closet grows because of heat and people have gotten just as good of results ( grams per watt) using T5HOs or leds without the cooling and ventilation system needed with HIDs. I use T5HOs and leds because I do not want to put large holes in the floor or ceiling of my closet for ventilation ducts.CFLs work good for low budget MMJ grows.

I just transplanted Juliet and devils lettuce, they are gonna be super happy just put in their first.round of.nutrients n when the light timer gets here I'ma change em to 18/6 light cycle.. I'm having an issue with temp.control n association with the height of the lights.. how close do they NEED to be to the plants?? Cuz temp regulation is gonna be tough to keep below 82 with the lights much closerView attachment 3020523
you only need about 4000 lumens per sq. ft. you have good reflectors so place your lights high enough that you can hold your hand comfortably between the top of the plant and the lights. a small fan will also help control temperature.you have enough light to cover 5 sq. ft. and your reflector will put most of the light on the plants so you can move it high enough to keep the plants cool. when I was using cfls I only used 2 23 watt bulbs when my plant were that small and it worked fine. you can add bulbs as they get bigger. too much light will actually slow plant growth. this is a problem the led crowd has when lights are too close.do you see sun spots after looking at your light?

Honestly I have the funds to buy the set up.. but if it just takes a wee bit more time for cfls than whoopty shit right? Space isn't really an issue, ventilation won't be an issue, heat shouldn't be an issue. And there will be zero light lost out of my attic room I built... so I think that cfl's r either gonna get sum super credit when I start flowering and they look A M A ZING, or.. i will see the error of my ways and by the system.. but as I'm about i have it set up all I'll need to do for flower is put in my 2700 k cfls. . Unseenblunt mc's indoor cfl grow turned out great all things considered. . Only diff is my room will be light leak proof and I have his advice from his faults during his grow, I'm down to buy the fixture but I'm not.. waiting on fan speed controller then the ventilation will be installed... After I see what temp is consistently , and perhaps I will have the lee way to have a super heated man light up there with no over heating issues.. but honestly.. i think putting that powerful of a light 5 feet above the plant till harvest is gonna burn it.. i only have 5 ft n sum itty bitty change to work with as far as heighth. .. 5' deep and 12' wide descending from the triangular attic shape... Air flow won't be the issue.. it will be light heighth that determines the power available without frying my ladies

there are some great threads on here about T5HO and led grows and some of these people are getting better yield than they did with there old HID lamps.T5HOs are more efficient than CFLs and produce less heat. I keep my T5s 3 inches above the canopy hanging from chains so I can adjust the height as the plants grow and have no problem with heat in a 2 ft by 2 ft closet running 8 2ft bulbs (16000 lumens) leds need to be about a foot from the plants and hids need about 2 feet to get good coverage so if height is limited a T5 fixture 3 inches above the canopy may be your best option. https://www.rollitup.org/t/led-without-leds-my-first-t5-grow.358190/page-250.this is a great thread with a lot of knowledable experiance growers who are more than happy to answer questions you may find it an interesting read.

UPDATE !!! ventilation installed.. checkin temp now.. n a few hours without oscillating fans and no cold buckets to get a pre temp before lights go up tom.. here's da pics...

I think the reason you're getting females is very simple....

It's the aluminum foil....

The aluminum foil is sending tiny microscopic laser-like beams of light at any balls the moment they appear instantly castrating them, and turrning any would-be male plant into a female plant.

Update again... added a window unit to my grow room it's air tight and Rollin with it.. gonna see what temp is when I get off work... and newest.growth pics after LST AND choppin the tops off juliet blue dream and juliet are sexin hard !!! White pistils everywhere !!! Few.more weeks and I'll throw em to flower

And the inside !! Looks like temp is fantastic water drip is being caught everything is vacuumed and perfect.. can't fucking wait to see temp at noon-3 tom and then it's move time !! Lots of time and effort and looks like.its finally gonna be all perfect !# homemade everything !!! Fuck yess !! Except the a/c. ..i didn't fan dangle that out of genius.. The 5 gallon buckets with frozen gallons insulated inside with an oscillating fan on top provides 45 degree air for 5 hours.. but in pulling double duty it only lasts about 2.5-3... having to warm up the the intake air which is 107+ and it's not even hot yet !! Air conditioning was the only choice .. any input on humidity and what not?? I'ma check n the Am-ish on humidity... i put my digital thermometer and humidity gauge in the room for now.. for the real check ... pics....

And the move is a success !!! It's a little hard controlling the temp perfectly and I believe it's only going to get more mini tasking when the weather gets hot... but it's way achievable with a/c and tentativeness.. thinkin about putting another light bar in there on the floor.. or just another above and next to the light bar thats already there...pics....

start lst asap bro, just took a closer look and those branches are gettin lanky, the thicker they are the longer it takes to train them down, and it gets harder not to break them
Bag seed, 22 days old, just LST 2 days ago. When, if at all, do you recommend to trim lower branches?

If the lower leaves aren't getting light and they r turning yellow and useless trim em.. Trim all yer 3 leaves, or yer water leaves and let it put more.power into growing upwards.. start LST asap just get sum light gauge copper wire and drill sum holes in yer bucket all the way around 360 degrees so u have a lot of options for direction changes... When the plants mature further u may want to train sum higher branches away from smaller ones to maintain internal growth.. I'll take sum pictures real quick and post em up..
