It works and it's fabulously ghetto!
It could have been less brown, but I chose to turn up the heat. No combustion. Vapor isn't hot enough to be uncomfortable as long as you don't draw too long and the pyrex funnel doesn't get very hot. The entire hot plate gets hot, though, so you could burn yourself mildly, maybe. The hot plate is bigger than I'd like it to be, but they probably aren't that common anymore, so there isn't a lot of choice. It also takes a while to cool down, so it'll keep producing vapor. Thinking of making a third lung to attach to it. Pretty easy to do.

This is the hot plate: http://www.amazon.com/Brentwood-Appliances-TS-337-Single-Burner/dp/B0042W5N04/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1382761321&sr=8-2&keywords=Hot+Plate
It is not limited to low-medium-high settings but true variable settings.
It also has a cast iron top. No teflon, I think.
The funnel is a Pyrex 60 degree long stem funnel I bought used on eBay. About $25 for everything.
I'm pretty satisfied with the way my project turned out.

Haha nice man. I love homemade stuff. I've never really had a proper chance to vape...does it do the job just as good as smoking?

I've actually never smoked. I'd probably have a hard time keeping the smoke in long enough. It seems it's actually a myth that most THC is absorbed in 3 seconds, and 10-13 is actually the optimal time.

Most people seem to say vaping lets them get more out of their cannabis.
