Week 11 Update (4 weeks into flower)

The buds are coming in very nicely! She is super sticky and starting to smell good as well. I'm hoping only 5-6 weeks left!!!

In other news, I noticed the tips of the leaves starting to burn and curl upwards. It is obviously some type of nutrient burn. I'm guessing chlorine because I use tap water that is 350PPM.

I flushed my bucket and filled with Poland spring bottled water mixed with GH MaxiBloom at 600PPM. We'll see if this helps.

ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS WELCOME!

I'll end this update with some cool pics of my buds that I got when the HPS light was off!

If you let your water stand for 24 hours without a lid on it most of the chlorine will evaporate. And that is a pretty high ppm for tap water although mines not a whole lot better, (210) I use a large brita filter and get it down to around 50.

Thanks for the help. I didn't realize brita filters can be so effective. I'll definitely get one. I don't want to spend a lot of money on a RO filter

I invested in a RO filter for my grows. It is pretty nice having RO on tap now. It doesn't get it as low as store bought RO but 30ppm is nothing to sneer at.

Week 12 Update (5 weeks into flower)

Nothing really new. Buds are growing. My PPM is around 800. pH is around 5.5-6.

I am filling up the res every other day. Roots look good.

I am really happy with how my first scrog is coming out. I am getting so impatient to harvest lol. Only about 4 weeks left hopefully.

And just to show the size of these buds, the picture below is just an average sized bud next to a standard water bottle. I have over 30 buds on this thing, some smaller and some bigger. Plus, she has 4 weeks left of growth!!!

Stay tuned folks!

Week 15 Update (8 weeks into flower)

What's up RIU family. I have not posted any updates the last 2 weeks because there was little change and I have been extremely busy. However, my girl is now 8 weeks through flower and she is getting close to harvest!!!

I went away for 4 days and neglected my baby. When I returned there was severe nutrient burn and yellow dying leaves. I did significant pruning and removed a lot of the dead fan leaves. This will allow for some more light to hit those bud sites in the last week or so.

How much longer should I let her go? Here are a few pictures of the trichomes.

Another week to ten days. Rule of thumb. If you think it is done, wait one more week. You could harvest in stages to. See how you like it at each stage. I wait until all cloudy trichomes and a little amber.

Looks good.

You did a good job.

The only suggestion I have is to use a stiffer screen, veg a little longer and tuck longer into flower. You could easily double or triple yield next run.

Looks good. Enjoy.

Took a few pictures with the HPS light off tonight. The flash was on for these.

The next one is with no flash just for reference.

16.5 weeks from seed (9.5 weeks flower)

It's harvest day!
The day has finally come. She probably could have gone a little longer but all her fan leaves were burning and I felt the time was right.

I cut, dried, and tested a small bud last week and she smoked good. So today I cut her down, trimmed, and hung em up to dry.

First, take a look at those roots! Definitely need a bigger res next time.

Now on to some harvest pics...

What do you think? I count 26 buds drying plus I have a bunch of small ones just laying out.

Can't wait for them to dry and cure. Any suggestions or methods that work best???

Surprising how well the buds turned out since the plants didn't look happy at all. I am growing Super Skunk too and they don't look happy neither, this sure gives me hope!
