My BIG BANG

Hey here is an update of my Big Bang That I have. They are in week two of flowering grown from seed. Plant #1's fan leaves are quite small but the buds are growing at a much faster rate than plant #2.

Plant #2's Fan leaves are large and healthy but the buds are not developing as quickly. I guess its genetics. I am thinking Plant 2 with the big fan leaves will end up the bigger yielder in the end because it started out much smaller than the Plant 1 but has surpassed it rather quickly in size and it just looks way healthier. Plant 1 has given me problems from week 3 of vegetative and has been a problem ever since.

I do have a mamma in the veg closet also here are pics of plant 1

This is the healthy one. I f you are unaware these are being grown under 2 150 watt HPS in a deep water culture. 12/12 light cycle PH 5.5 Ec 1.8 I am using bigfoot Floral nutes A and B

I also have 2 Cfls on either side of the plant and I rotate the lids daily to get light on the bottom of the plant all around each cfl is putting out 1300 lumens. I figur the plant gets maybe half of that

This is my mother plant grown from seed I have some cuttings from her rooting now, I have yet to see if she will be a good yielder I only chose her because she seems to be the most hardy. She has shown the least amount of stress throughout growing cycle and always looks healthy. So we will see

anyone have comments or advice let me know. I dont see much DWC talk on here Id like to get involved in a conversation about it

The plants were grown from seed and I started flowering about 7 weeks from germination. right now they are about 24". They probably will grow a little taller but not much they are real bushy, they start to grow outwards rapidly while flowering. I think if you grow in soil they will be pretty easy, but in hydro they can be pretty temperamental. I would suggest trying to find the one that is growing the healthiest and keep that as a mother and then just grow out the rest

My grow area was 4 ft long x 20 inches wide ( about 5 ft high). I planned on growing 3 plants ( 1 died at the beginning of flower). I did a light scuff on the seeds (sandpaper in matchbox) and put the seeds in 1.5" rockwool cubes. They popped out in about 2 days. (the cubes were soaked in 5.5 Ph water) I put them under a fluorescent shop light (2 x 40w 6500K 3050 lumen bulbs) for about a week until I started seeing roots on the bottom, then I put them in 3 gallon pots. The pots had about an inch or so of perlite on the bottom and the rest was Miracle Grow Moisture control ( I added some perlite and Dolomite Lime to the soil). I left them under the shop light for another week before I added another one (total 12,200 lumens) and ran the dual shop lights for a week. The nodes stayed nice and close under the floro's and some side branching started near the end of the third week. Starting the 4th week I put them under a 600W MH light for about 10 days (side branching really took off then) before flipping to 12/12 under a 600W HPS. I got a little stretch the first couple of weeks when they seemed to do most of their vertical growth ( I had a Sativa that really exploded). It was probably the last 3 weeks or so when it really started getting thicker. I didn't use anything but water during veg. I used Fox Farm (Grow Big, Tiger Bloom, Big Bloom) in flower, starting out at 1/4 strength and going to full strength around the 3rd week of flower. She probably could have been harvested at 8 weeks, but I waited 64 days. She really got nice and frosty that last week. I'm not sure what the final yield was, the only thing I checked after drying and clipping the buds from the stems was the main cola which was 20.5 grams.

Even so almost an ounce from the cola thats a sweet grow. Did you notice any skunk smell on yours because I have one thats giving off a serious fruity odor and the other is giving off a skunk smell. I know its a skunk cross, but the difference in smells is so far to the left and right you know. Not to mention the one with the skunk smell has ennormous indica leaves while the others are very average. I figured greenhouse would send seeds that were very similar in genetics but these are night and day. Did you experience anything like that.

Mine has been pretty uniform so far. I get the nice fruity smell. Maybe that skunk one will turn out awesome - like finding a cherry pheno of AK-47. Maybe you'll get a lemony skunk.

heres a few more, the main cola is starting to develop now, it consists of about 10-12 individual buds growing into one another. 7 weeks to go im letting her go the full ten weeks unless she gets done early for some reason. I want the cbd's to develop all the way through.

very nice lookin so far storm.

Why do you have the cfl's under the leaves facing up? Plants cant absorb sunlight through the bottom of their leaves.

keep up the good work = )

how is the odor during the flowering period? is it fruity like arjan says in the video? or stinky? i'm thinking of growing that plant this year outdoors in a stealth place

the cfl's are detached so I can take the pictures without them being in the way and to check the nutes and such. Well as far as smell goes I am getting a very sweet fruity smell from one and the the other is a bit skunky but I just smelled the skunky one and it did smell a little bit fruitier now still more skunk than fruit though. Im not sure if its green apples I smell but it is a very sweet smelling plant and not too powerful to where you need to worry about the smell yet. Plus I do have a carbon can above them.

Carl Sagan, He probably smoked some serious shit before he did COSMOS
absolutely correct! I normally don't cut and paste but thought this entry from wiki would be appropriate:

*~*~*~*~*~*~ FROM WIKI*~*~*~*~*~
Sagan was a user of marijuana. Under the pseudonym "Mr. X", he wrote an essay concerning cannabis smoking in the 1971 book Marihuana Reconsidered, whose editor was Sagan's close friend, Lester Grinspoon. In his essay, Sagan wrote how marijuana use had helped to inspire some of his works and enhance sensual and intellectual experiences. After Sagan's death, Grinspoon disclosed this to Sagan's biographer, Keay Davidson. The publishing of this biography, Carl Sagan: A Life, in 1999, brought much media attention to the issue of the use and legalization of marijuana
