Day 10........ 100% success! all have roots, all 51 sites rooted! how could ya ask for better! 100% success....... proven......
Right on epix, you proved it:clap::hump::joint::bigjoint:bongsmilie:mrgreen:!! Now you just need a clone from everyone who builds one of these as reward and you'll have a serious pool of genetics!
Awesome job on this, btw! +rep4u!! And it's nice to hear someone else encouraging peeps to use NO hormones, etc...... as most will use too much; where the benefits of using NONE out weigh any time saved by using them, imo.

This is definately one of the better diy's on RIU.......great use of pics and explaining each step!

Oh, and your grow is looking excellent too----just over here from that thread!

Have a great day!

Good day there all,

hay whatapothead,

no water leaks with lid upside down,
but lotz with lid on proper!
if the lid seals inside the ouside rim it would work, otherwize the lid/container is not made air tight, and to add weather stripping will only unseal anyware there is not foarced pressure,

(example.. these containers seal by the handles, use weather stripping on it and the pressure needed to seal the lid will foarce the edges and sides up!)

the sprayers totaly hit everyware inside the container so less there's a lip below the container top level for water to flow naturally it will leak...
Learned this the Hard way with my last cloner, had to use plastic under it to catch the water, it leaked everyware! so make sure you by a container that the lid will fit upside down in!

Hay thankz there growinman,

nothing much better then nature! Mother N wuz doin it before us, no better teacher!

i did use Growzyme, but only because it's a bacteria enzime thingy with NO Horomones!, stops bacteria and helps roots somehow with promoting the good bacteria and enzimes...i don't understand....lol, and i use it at such weak levels too, bout 1/16 the mix label, learned that the hard way!
Have done the same way many times with just water too....

All of us live and learn, and RIU is a sweet place to get the advice to help others with the learning proccess, so we must ALL be honest and report all we learn, it's for the better good! Think if it ever becomes legal.... WE will ALL be the pot Kings of the earth! so let us learn and teach in the hopes of legalization! :bigjoint:

Not a problem, but remeber, this is only the way i do it.....

I try to make sure the Mothers to be cloned have had water there last 2 feedings... just seems to pre prep the clones for new nutz sooner, and lets the rooting horomone soak in better.....

first, before i take the clones i make a Rooting Horomone mix in a big nuff jug for all the clones i'll cut..... I use KLN Rooting Horomone Concentrate and mix it according to the KLN label...

cut the clones as short or tall as you wish, nothing fancy to this part, i like big ones from Anyware on the Mother plant.....

then stick them into the horomone mix and let sit for 1-2 hours, have let them sit longer but the stems suck too much nutz and takes longer to root

after the wait, cut the clones in the normal manner, 45 past the 4th shoot, trim back the leaves if you want, will work with them still on but makes a mess...... then i put each one into neoprean plugs into the cloner

thats all i do, seems to my exsperience only thing that'll slow down roots is fertz! so limit what they get and you'll be surprised......

think of Human Baby's, lol, they survive for how long off just Moms milk!
Mother Nature knows best! lol

Hope that helps........

P.S. i'm Proud to say that i only give advice from stuff i've done!

Day 12.........

those roots are reaching the misters 6" under already..... gonna put them into soil 2 days from now, much longer and roots will block the water flow, it'll also make them branch out lotz, searchin for food, so i've found, and you can see.... :weed:

and as a Note....
Must say too, at this stage the tops of the girls are reaching for light and can be Topped or FIM'd right now too, done it many time to great success, allows for lotza major growth in veg without the stress of toppin or fim'n... just a Note....

awesome.. so you don't do anything to the bottom of the stems besides the 45* cut... good to know. soak in clone solution then into straight water.

thanks for the help.

no prob...... you can scrap some of the bottom too, but you don't need to...... hell i find i get roots coming outa any cut i make, leaves and all, as long as the moisture reaches it..... i even get roots formin in the neoprean obove the lid ware it's held in the water! so i try not to scar to much and keep the roots low on the stem, but only my choice once more.........

Day 13............

Wow are those frigin Roots ever NICE............
gonna let them be for a nuther day then into soil......
gotta get some more soil and potz anyhow.... :joint:

They are hanging below the sprayers now but not blocking them yet, if your rez is under the clones it's not too bad, but if your rez is seperate you gotta watch out for that.....

lookin at your pictures gives me a boner... i built a cheaper aero cloner with the bubble wands first time i tried i couldn't get a single clone to root. Im now on my second attempt to get roots i feel like they were getting too much moisture so i took off humidity dome.

LOL, right on......

i've only had bad luck using ferts or rooting agents in my mix, and as for a humidome....

i usually use one but desided not to with this batch, mainly cause i couldn't find one to fit my jug!...

all i did wuz mist them few times a day for 3 days, and kept the lights way up (2') for the first 3 days then lowered it to 8" over them and stopped misting them......

have had probs with moisture before so tryed this and it works fine.......

Seems the moisture below and minimal rooting consentrate soaking gives it a good start for no need of humidome......

Good day all..... i did this 4 days ago,
sorry it took me them days to get it up,
been frigin working hardcore in there and my Day Job........

Day 16........ All into soil and Veg room under the 400w MH...........

How i do it......

I went and got more Soil....
i'm using SunShine Mix 1..... i usually use SunShine Mix 4 but wanna do a test between them,
Already used #4 with the mothers and first batch's.....
Only real difference between the 2 is the Peat content, #1 is 70-80% peat and #4 is 40-50% peat.....

Presently in my Flower room i got 2 batch's done in Preimeum Pro mix BX,
same ingredients as the SunShine Mix 1, Sept a few Micro and Macro nutrients,
None of the SunShine mix products have them...

So thats a test i got going with the soil,
but for a dif thread or just plain old knoledge at leaste, learning is everything...

OK..........

So how do i put the Rooted Aero clones into Soil......

1 - I get some Beer cups....
The bigger the better....
Poke holes trough the bottom and even slice the bottom around the sides..

2 – I then put some News paper in the bottom of the cup to help retain the soil...

3 – Then i put a little soil in it to hold the paper down, about an inch......

4 – Now gently take the clone outa the Neoprean puck, gently twist the stem till the roots allow you to have the clones main stem a min of 1 inch bellow the soil line....

5 – Gently put soil in around the side and apply pressure with your fingers all around the sides to compact it, make sure you decently compact the sides or the soil will compress when ya water it and the clone will fall over and mabey break roots.....

6 – Take the newly planted clones and bottom feed them with just water...

Now take and put them all into a veg state or room about 2' under the light for about 3 days then lower the light or raise the plants closer, but you MUST give them a few days to adjust the the light no matter what.....

Thats all there is too it, i havn't had a one die yet doin it so hopefuly these will all live great too......

you can leave them in veg as long as you want, but you should repot them in 2 weeks.....

Sorry bout the fuzzy Pic's, my cam still got a few probs after it's resevoir dive......
