My DIY Fog Cloner

Hey everyone!! Just wanted to share my DIY fog cloner. I got the idea from Stealth Hydro's Mistic Cloner.

Materials:

5 gal Sterlight tote

Ultrasonic Mist Maker

2" neoprene inserts

The first thing I did was mark out were I was going to drill holes in the lid.

Then I drilled the holes with a 2" hole saw.

Then I installed the mist maker by simply drilling a hole in the side of the tote just big enough to fit the included grommit, running the cord through and setting it in the tote.

Here is a video of it running.

Looks good, you could have gotten away with a shorter res to save space though...
I was thinking about that, but I would rather have the extra water to act as a heat sink for the fogger. That and the more volume of water the more stable it is( not that that much really makes a diff) Plus I already had it laying around so I might as well use it right?lol

I have 4 tubs lying around, waiting to use them eventually...hahha...check out my most recent one in my signature...i wont use it for next grow, not enough space between the plants with this strain..

Nice setup man,+rep I've always been a soil guy but I've been thinkin about doing one of those bubbleponics just for fun lol. I'm actually thinking about doing an experiment with it, I have an old protien skimmer laying around that has a 260gph pump with a needle wheel and venturi on it. I might use that, along with multiple airstones just to see what happens;)

I personally like 5gal RDWC better because you can space them out. I most definitely recommend using a wide lip netpot, when you start growing and gaining weight they have a tendency to fall through the holes, so you have to tie them up for them not to fall..i even had to drill into my netpot and use a bamboo stake for support to keep it from falling all of the way through. i got away with 6 plant sites in this 25 gal res but thats not efficient unless you have all of the same strain growing and you really utilize a scrog. The weaker plants are barely surviving under the canopy of the monster that has grown, she will be a nice yielder! I will more than likely scrap this tub and use 3-5 gal buckets for the next one in this space. I am limited on space and would like to have my spare bathroom back one day, so im thinking about moving onto a wall of cabinets in the garage, im thinking 3-4 42"wide cabinets, the only downfall is temperature! I dont know how im going to be able to keep them cool in 100 degree weather. I will update as i make my decision on what next grow to go with.

I do have a storage closet about 3x6, but i would have to ventilate by pulling in air from the living room with an active intake and carbon filter on the intake to prevent back pressure into the living room. The exhaust would have to be vented out of the door, i would have to purchase a new door being that the one i have is aluminum and wood would be much easier to work with. Im going to research this one some more...its possible, anything is possible!

Well I guess I should have waited for the inserts to get here before drilling. It turns out that the inserts are all a hair under 2" so I had to rap a bunch of them in thin foam. It will just have to work for now.

I took clones tonight! I cant wait to see how this baby works lol! There are 4 cuttings each of the 2 afghan poison phenos, 4 cuttings of raspberry cough, and 6 cuttings of bubblelicious.

The cuttings have been in the machine for 1 day and they look great so far! They have straitened themselves out and the leaves have shown no droop at all.

Nice report. This should work great. Think about adding a strong (not Walmart) bubbler, such as Elite 802 and 2 Sunleaves Oxystones. I use this for my seedlings. I start in S2G/RW grow cubes in 2" net pots. I use a smaller/less deep container as I grow < 6 plants at a time . No heat to dissipate, but good call on your part figuring that out. hth
