My First CFL Grow

Here you go, Spittn4cash.
This strain seems to grow wider than it does taller which is a plus for me. Also it seems to smell more like deisel than purp to me, but I'm not too worried about that as my girls seem to be doing well.
Condom seems to be flourishing now! New growth from the burn/top is coming out strong and seems to be smelling already.
But as for Bengay, she seems to still be recovering. Slowly, but surely. I'm hoping she makes a full recovery soon so that I can top/FIM her.
I've also fed them today with 2 tsp/gallon of Fox Farms Grow big. Hopefully that'll help diagnose the Bengay's health issue.

What I want to know, did you put on the Bengay or the Condom first?
Either way, it's "OUCH" for SOMEBODY........
I made the mistake 1 TIME of letting my ex curl up next to me after putting Heet, or one of them things on her leg.

Funny thing is that I actually had Bengay on my nuts before and oh boy... Did it burn! It felt like my nuts were going to fall off.
It pretty much happened the way it happened to you.
Maybe I should try using Bengay the next time one of my plants herm!

Try changing fuel filters and having gas run down the arm to your pits.
A kid I used to know actually dared another guy in the shop to squirt him in the nuts with carburetor cleaner, LOL
Next thing everybody heard was screaming and saw the kid running across the shop.
We all followed into the changing room, to see him with nuts dangling in the sink trying to cool them off.

I would have been rollin' on the ground if I was there. That sounds funnier than the time a friend of mine got his man stick stuck in his zipper!

Damn those plants are growing fast.. I see a little wrinkle and burn, but she's gonna pull through nicely. Nice job

Yeah, they were stunted for a good week and a half or so, but they are bouncing back nicely!

Why yes it is! Just put on Type R lips and a new B18 Vtech motor!

Okay guys, I've thought about it for a while now and decided that instead of using CFL's for flowering, I'd use a 600w HPS that I used during my last (failed) attempt at growing indoors! But for now, they'll stay under CFL's until they're ready for the flip to 12/12. I will give an update on how my ladies are doing later on tonight as well, so stay tuned!
On another note, I tore down the grow box that I built because I got a bit too frustrated with one of the wooden boards that cracked and decided that I'll pick up my 4x8 tent that I used during my last indoor grow as well.
Here are my little toys that I picked up from my warehouse.

Okay, here's the update on my ladies for today.
Condom is doing great after her full recovery from the burn/top and has almost doubled in width. I'm thinking about topping her again tonight (4 nodes) before I start to LST her so that there will be more branches to be tied down, but I'm not too sure... Any opinions about this would be greatly appreciated!
Bengay is doing pretty well too and is healing pretty well from her burns and am thinking about topping her tonight.
Also I have a question that I want answered. Is it better to top at lights out or in the dark period? I've always done it in the morning during sunrise for my outdoor seasons or whenever I felt like it, but maybe it's a bit different for growing indoors? Thanks for the help in advance.

Alright, well, I've gone ahead and topped both of my ladies (purposely this time) just now.
Hopefully they'll make a quick recovery this time around.

I would have waited, but now that you have, that's fine too.
Maybe move your lights up for a week, to make her stretch just a little if you want to start training her like I did mine.

RE: Topping

I only top when height is an issue, I prefer LST'ing instead of topping but to each his own.. I like the idea of a 2 headed monster, those are usually high yielders.. The 4 headed monster might take a little longer to mature, but she will also be a high yielder.

I also agree that topping early in the day is better, because the plant does most of it's growing during the day, and it will recover without stressing the plant. You can also top mid-day without stressing the plant, but I would not recommend topping at night or just before lights out. Nighttime is when the roots start growing.. it would have to wait until daytime to begin photosynthesis and resume growth.

That's alright, and yeah, I moved up the lights to about 4" to get just a tiny bit of stretching to occur.
I'm going to LST her probably when she gets to about 8"-12" tall.

Thanks Cash! I usually top AND LST, and occasionally supercrop, all of my plants.
I'm aware that the plant is going to take a bit longer to mature, but I like to LST with 4 tops just because it makes the plant a lot bushier.

I think I started around 12" also.

Yeah, that's a pretty common number in terms of LST. A lot of the growers that I know start LST'ing at about 10"-14".

What bulb and reflectors are you using in this set up?
