Did you just upgrade the three bulbs you have on the plant, or did you add some more? Those CFL's are pretty worthless if they're further than a couple inches away and your plant is already pretty tall.

Also are you trying to veg or flower? To me those cfls look like they are on the lower end of the light spectrum, something like 2700k....they are for flowering if that is what you are trying to do.

Is there any way you can get the lights closer to the plant? Mostly the one that's on the back of the toilet...

yes i can move it its a coil neck lamp lol where do you think it should be? also these are on the lower k side because i do want red spectrum should i still add something with 4100k-6000k? and how is my nutrients at 15-30-15? it seems to be working to me

Plants get energy by photosynthesis, the tops of the leaves is what performs the photosynthesis so you should place the light as close as an inch away from the topside of the leaves(probably the lower leaves since the light looks pretty short). If you add a higher spectrum bulb it definetly wouldn't hurt the plants but instead i would just add another red bulb. If the nutes are working I wouldn't change anything IMO (if something isn't broken don't fix it).

Yay! She looks way happier! You might want to buy a "Y" splitter and have that coil neck lamp running two bulbs...

i was wanting to do that instead of buyin another coil neck but would a splitter be able to fit in that small lamp? or should i just buy something like a ground post for a flood lamp and put a spliter in that

You'll probably have to put in a small extension before the splitter. You can get them cheap at Home Depot. http://www.amazon.com/Porcelain-Medium-Base-Socket-Extender/dp/B000XQ02PO

Here's a fancier extender that I have my eye on. They seem to give you a lot of control over where you aim the light, similar to the coil-neck in the lamp. http://www.dealextreme.com/p/e27-to-e27-extension-adapter-110-220v-ac-36094

I run 10 cfl's, all on splitters fastened to lengths of pvc. I rigged up some bases out of jugs so that I can easily adjust their height.

i also like your idea of pvc to rig your lights...do you run the wires through and attach he splitters in through holes you drilled?

Hi, I don't claim to be an expert, but I agree with the guy who said your cfl's REALLY NEED to be no more than about 2" away
from your plant. Yours are WAY too far from your plant! Thus you get your extreme stretching. I'm just sayin!
Good Luck!

This is my first go-round, so all I can tell you is my experience so far. I would read through the stickies in the CFL section to get the run down from someone with more expertise. https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-growing/

Personally, I'm running 10 CFL's on a single plant DWC grow as a test run. If all goes well I'm gonna buy a 250w HPS for my next grow (my tent is only 3' x 2' x 3') My plant is 6 weeks old (4 weeks 12/12), and topped for four main colas. I have two CFL's on top, and two CFL's on each of the four colas, and if she gets much bigger I might need more.

You can check it out if you want here: ((https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-growing/410802-dees-1st-grow-aerogarden-bagseed.html))

No, that was my initial idea but the ends of my extension cords were too big to feed through the PVC so I just Jimmy-rigged it with duct tape. Here's a couple pics where you can kinda see what I set up. I used a "growler" jug filled with sand as a base (cause I have plenty from homebrewing) and the PVC fit perfectly in the neck. Usually there's a growler with two CFL's on each cola, but I just left one in for the picture. My girl is pretty short, but you could easily adapt this to a taller plant.

I've also seen people attach extensions/splitters directly into a powerstrip so that there's like 8 lights coming out of it and hanging the entire powerstrip upside down over the plant. I think they ziptied the splitters to the powerstrip so they didn't fall off. Or buy one of those bathroom fixtures that goes above a mirror that's basically a strip of light sockets. Just smoke a bowl and walk around Home Depot for a bit. It'll all come together. :)
