My First Closet Grow

have a look in the grow faq you should be able to sort this but do it quickly or it could ruin your crop....

OK, so the plants are continuing to grow.

Still seeing the plant yellow in spots and I cannot pinpoint the issue. I think it was under watering because the plants feel dry and the edges are drying up and shriveling. I am trying to water them back to good health.. hopefully these plants wont die on me.

I also started thinking about throwing these plants into flowering soon. If they are going to double in height like I read than I think they are getting to a good point. Mabye a week more veg or so but I am going to do it soon.

The plants are getting big. I really think I want to start flower soon to keep them small.

Is it bad to start flowing after like 20 days?

Also is fertilizer needed for a grow? There was some plant food in the miracle grow I mixed in the soil but I don't know if that is enough.

Will my plants still flower ok without added ferts?

Lastly.. is it to late to top these???

You can flower right now, but youll get mor bud if you wait. I dont know how long miracle grow nutes last but you should get a some flowering nutes and start using them a week or two into flowering. Some ferts are better than no ferts. You can top them off now cause you havent started flowering. There small so take it easy.

I am going to take your advise about flowering ferts.
I also will try to top them today or tomorrow and see how that goes.

The weed is starting to get strong. May have to take some measures to get rid of the smell soon.

I ghetto rigged the lights over the plants with some duct tape.

Some of your lower leaves arent looking to happy. It looks like if I touch them they will fall apart. How hot is it in there. I cant tell if you are using a fan or not but I think its the heat thats causing your leaves to dry out. Its either that or your not watering them enough. Keep an eye on your temps, anything around 72 is ideal.

Thanks for the comment Jonny. You are right. Some of the leaves are very dry on the ends. I am not sure what the temps are in the closet. I will have to invest in a thermometer in there so I can tell the temps and adjust accordingly. For now I just lifted the lights up a little off the plants and pushed the fan (yes I do have one on them) closer to the plants. I have been trying to water them as much as possible. They are very thirsty plants. Also going to leave the door open now and then to give them some more air.

Dont water them too much. Im a rockwool guy, but I know soil doesnt require much water. Definitely get a thermometer. I hope you can save your youngins.

what u were seeing was the good ol fashioned MG burn. it happens when U plant directly into MG soil without giving your plants time to mature first...n00b mistake, nothing serious...next time germinate in rockwool or a jiffy cube first and allowed the plants to get about 2 weeks old and then transplant into the MG.

For now just flush the plants asap and make sure U get a good amount of ferts out of the soil (you will know bcuz the runoff water should start off orangeish-brown then the more water U flush thru the soil the clearer the runoff water will get..when its just a little yellow it should be alright.)

then you can add ferts as needed.

You should be fine if you flower now

Keep those CFL's no closer than 4-6 Inches.

Make sure U dont give them too much waer, they're looking kinda overwatered, and when u start feeding start off at 1/4 the recommended dosage and work ur way up. Its always better to underfeed/underwater than to overfeed/overwater...simply bcuz its easier to correct.

So the plants are continuing to grow. Some leaves have some yellow/orange spots that look like fert burn or MG burn as "Spittin" said.

Regardless of the burn, and the semi dryness of the leaves, the plants are continuing to thrive. The plants seem less dry than they were, but could still be better.

I decided to top my smaller plant and leave the larger one alone and grow as normal.

Can you show me some more pics of your grow room. I want to see the complete setup if its not too much trouble. thanks.

Yes Spit, my lights are on 24/0, I tried doing 22/2 but I bought a stupid analog timer instead of a good digital one like I should have. It messes up too much and can ruin the light cycle by getting stuck off. Go digital..

Who knew this would come out of the bag seed that is usually thrown away..

thanks for the pics, such a simple setup. I guess its working though. How long have you been vegging for. Based on your pic, I would if you start flowering now, you should get a decent yeild. You have plenty of space if you want to wait however. Either way, its going to start smelling so you might want to think about some kind of exaust if its possible. Ive also seen the room ozonators, but dont know how effective they are. Nice plants.

Been vegging for about 3 weeks.

I don't want these babies to get too big or too strong smelling, so I am going to start 12/12 tonight. On at 11AM, Off at 11PM.

Bad News.

Both plants seem to be male. Both have the sacks. I am disappointed.

Can I smoke these plants even? Should I just pull them, throw them away and start again?

fuck, thats shit ey, my plant is 8.3 inches (21cm) im about to go into flowering this weekend, just need to buy different lights/more lights lol, only using clf as well.
my plant smells like weed, but it also smells minty, did yours get that?
hopefully it isnt a male, and your just mistaken.
