My first DWC grow. How am I doing??

How do you plant you plants in it

It had to happen sooner or later. I have been hit with the slime. I hate hot summer days LOL At least it's only 2 buckets the rest are fine. It's Tea Time

Hello fellow cannabis lovers. I'm a newbie to this experience & I've encounterd a few problems. I have my babies in a tent under 2 100w cfl's (11000k) total lumens. The environment is usually between %40-%60 rh, kept between 75-85 degrees. The seedlings are in a 20 gallon tub with a ph of 5.8 normally. I haven't given them much food thus far, only about half of the standard strength nutes and that was yesterday. Before then I was just manually giving them water. When my sprouts came up they some were kind of lanky so I re-planted deeper. Now I'm having a couple with the drooping leaves and some curled at the tips... I would greatly appreciate any good insight that you guys out there can give me! I'm new to this & this site as well.......helllpp!

I'm not 100% sure but I would be willing to say that you should not have replanted them deeper.I think you would have been alright if you just let them alone and let them grow.

3 oz. off my first DWC plant that's better than I ever got in soil. I am doing a staggered grow. I started each plant 2 weeks apart. I have 4 buckets in the flower room at a time all 2 weeks apart. So now I harvest one plant every 2 weeks and start a new one at the same time. All is well so far.

I think I have my slime problem under control. Now if the weather would just cool off some it would help.

thats y u dont buy a meter u buy the solutiong e.g one drop into small beaker nd walah u have ph reading

I think my root problems are the result of high temps in the res. not ph

Nice plants man, also my frist dwc plus i was a soil grower too' infact i got one going along side this dwc unit i made. i was using a ph meter for a soil grow. im using rockwool cube inside my net pot and clay pebbs on top stoping the light get past the corners i had to cut off to get the cube to fit. ive got a 39ltr res and its 2ft deep so the roots will have agood bit to grow plus its only one plant init, ive heard that plants growen from seeds in hydro get really big roots masses, cuttings roots to big enough in hydro never mind them coming from seeds.

Im abit unsure off how much to feed with my dwc, if you dont mind me asking what did you start on and how much did you go up by every week, plus whens the best time (how long before res change) ? only reson i ask is coz some say aweek and i was reading about one guys only changed from veg to flower and twoo weeks before harvest, thanks man

i also could use a little quick knowledge. i'm just winging it from info i've read on here. i used a water pump to circulate water onto rooms until it was able to reach the bubbles without. i've only changed the res once in 10 days days. roots are always becoming massive, wondering how often i'll have to feed in late veg-flower

OK I will try to give you a run down of what I have been doing and this seems to work for me. I am not one to do the same things that everyone else does. I like to do it my way so keep that in mind as you read the rest of this.

Grow room: W 4' X L 5'X H 7' (flower room)
Veg room W 2' X L 4' X H 3" ( under an old work bench)
Veg lighting 1 4' X 2' 4 bulb T5HO florescent Using a 14/10 light cycle 14 on 10 off
Flower lighting 1000 watt HPS Using a 10/14 light cycle 10 on 14 off

I use GH Flora series nutes Grow, Micro and Bloom. I also use Kool Bloom powder. I use a half strength mix all the way through the veg cycle from cutting to ready to flower (6 weeks)
I also use Aqua Shield and Subculture M to help keep roots healthy.

During veg. I may change the res once or twice. Once I move them to flower I start with a fresh bucket of bloom nutes at half strength along with the Aqua Shield and Subculture M. Now you have seen my flower room it is not possible for me to change each single res after the plants get this big. I'm not running a RDWC each bucket is it's own res. What I do to keep things in a suitable range for PH and PPM is to top off each day to a level just under or right at the bottom of the net pot. The first day I top off with nutes the next day with just water and alternate each day. This keeps the res fairly fresh and steady PH and PPM. I do this all the way to harvest. I don't flush before harvest. I have never seen any benefit to doing so Why starve your plants just when they need food the most? Well thats it in a nut shell. Like I said I don't do things like the masses But I still have very good results. Thanks for looking.

Flushing is for toilets, not plants.

Guess what i got today.

I got me a new PH meter. I was shocked when I checked My buckets. They were just on the high side about 6.5 - 7.1 Not bad for not having a meter for so long. Got em all down to 5.6 -6.0 now. Still using the short light cycle and the plants son't seem to know the diff. size is the same and I truly think I will see more yield time will tell.

Cool that you got the new Ph meter, I think you will be surprised at how fast you get growth when you have your Ph dialed in. Your plants look great btw, obviously your doing something right. Just curious if you have thought about running a sterile res using H2O2 or DutchMaster Zone instead of the tea to combat the high res temps? In any case keep up the good work and happy growing.

Well now that the hot weather is gone my temps are back to about 70 I hope that will be cool enough. I shouldn't have a problem again till next summer LOL
