My first grow and grow room

Hey there rollitup! I have a few questions and need some help through this whole process. I'm not new to growing but I am to cannabis. First I will describe what I have I what I want to do. Any suggestions or comments are much appreciated.

So as for the room I have is 8' x 10' x 10'.
Ventilation comes from the floor of this room bringing in fresh air and tubing out the top to get rid of used and hot air. Have two fans ocilating above and below where the plants will be and one pointed at the ballast.
Temperature and humidity is very easy to control so this is a dream setup for me.

For the lighting I am using a 1000W MH/HPS light . Ive used these lamps for many of my greenhouse grows, does wonders with green beans. Now what I am planning on doing and correct me if I'm wrong is the walls, floor, and ceiling will be covered in mylar. I want the most light getting to my babies. 1000W is a 5 x 5 area so I am gonna make the best of it.

For soil I am using FOx Farm ocean Forest for the entire grow except for seedling stage up until first transplant. I will use Light Warrior for that. Want these babies to be in 5 gallon pots, I want some monsters lol.

The seeds will be vanilla and violator kush, NYC purple and grapefruit diesel, amnesia and white widow.
As for nutrients I am planning on using the canna line of nutes and plain organic molasses.

Now the question I have is how far should that light be from these plants at all times?

How do I pull the most yield and not skip quality from these strains?

As for the room, should these cannabis strains handle the room?

Anything else?

Thanks by the way to all who comment and happy smoking! pics will come after christmas when this room is mylar coated!

uhh im not really sure if yooull need any help u seem to have a good idea of what ur doing but i thought with lights u feel the heat coming off the bulb and see how far ur plant can stand it then add about 3 inches for safety so it doesnt grow overnight and get burnt im happ that uve grown other plants before most of the time on this website u only hear bout how triumphant someone grew there nameless weed never hear a stary bout a big ass watermelon anymore lolz
anyways happy growing im sure with the knowledge u have and the knowledge riu gives u ull do wonderfull

For sure I usually grow up to 15 different varieties of veggies all year round. Also have some rubarb that has been growing for 5 years that many would pay good monopoly money for lol. One of my concerns is me using the Fox Farms Ocean Forest. Ive researched and its been said that ocean forest feeds for about 5 weeks. So if i go out and get some ferts like the fox farm line-up, what and how should I use it? I really want to apply the canna series of nutes but don't know or read anything about anyone using them. Also molasses, who has seen results applying it to your flowering stage feeding? How much per gallon?

Cannabis is so new to me i just don't want to end of ruining a good investment. I am really looking forwad to the nyc purple diesel and the amnesia! the diesel is from next generation and the amnesia is from dinafem

Growing chilies hydroponically introduced me to world of hydro, now when i have a chili plant and weed plant them chillies smell awsome and taste fucking HOT!!!!!!

i personally just leave my hps at the roof of my room, my plants never stretch for it as it puts out enough light and the mylar reflects it all over the place..

Yes see I used to grow tomatoes and peppers and used a MH/HPS 1000W conversion and just set it at least a couple feet away. Used mylar with this application also, did wonders for my yield! Really i think I am doing alot better than some on RIU lol. So as for quality of these strains do u think I will grow top quality as for the buzz? 1000W should give plenty of light to the bottom leaves especially if I mylar the room. Just dont want some mid dank when i am all done. Now I have heard of cropping and scrog...will these techniques increase my yield or should i just let one huge bud grow on all of them? With sic plants I want monsters.

How many plants are you going to put into the 5x5 area under the bulb? I think to get the most even light to the plants you should do a sea of green or a scrog. With a sog(sea of green) youll have a whole bunch of really small plants vegged for a very short time and in small pots, each one will be basically just a good sized cola and pretty short(youve got 10 feet of height? thats fucking awesome). If your going to just have the 1 1000k bulb then having moster plants might not be as good an idea because youll only get good lighting to the very top of that big ass plant. If you use multiple lights from many angles you could do alot better for growing a few really huge plants. 4 beasts would fit really good into 5 x 5 area but Id think you might want some side lighting for them(flourecent tubes along the outside) so that the bottoms arent in the dark.

as for cropping the plants, it really depends on the method your going to use. If you do a SOG just let them grow up straight without cropping. You might take out a few of the bottom leaves if they arent getting any light, but as long as they dont get really tall then you should be able to leave them on too. If you do a SOG then your looking to make it bush out alot, so topping/LST/Fim/supercrop, whatever method you like best. If you top the plants youll be cutting off alot of the growth which means youll be able to let it veg longer. This is bad if you dont like waiting for plants to veg but its good if you want to have a massive root system because the roots will have more time to grow. If you want to have just huge fucking plants, then you should transplant many time over and end up in a pot size of 5gallons or larger. You wont really be able to benefit from anything larger than 5gallons unless your going to do alot of vegging. With lots of light and your 10foot ceiling you could grow some huge trees!

Mylar is really good

SOG will probably be your best yeild for total watts burned(there are more efficient methods but SOG much easier) and you could have probably 25 plants fitting nicely into a 5x5 area, however you wont have massive plants. Any technique will produce the same "quality" of bud so long as it is getting a good enough amount of light to that bud. Quality will be determined by the genetics of your plant and whether or not you treat your plants properly(light/air/nutrients). the more buds you have on one plant the smaller they will be, so thats another factor. The larger and healthier the root system the more colas you can get from one plant without sacraficing budsize.
