hello everyone it's nice to meet you, I would like to introduce you to my new friends, they are about 19 days old and I was wondering what you guys thought. I ordered some earth juice products for my nutrients but they haven't come yet so I have just been using some miracle gro liquid plant food. They seem to be doing pretty good to me. I am working on converting an old dresser into my grow box but haven't had time to finish it so they have just been in my closet... tell me what you think guys. Thanks. Oh and also these are Northern Lights #5 that I got from high-grade seeds.

Edit: I will keep this pretty updated because I don't want to mess anything up. Please stick around. :)

About 20 drops into this watering pale, not sure but I'd say it's probably about a gallon. Thats just what my mom uses on all of her house plants and none of them have trouble so I didn't think it could do much harm.

yeah haha it was actually there before i started and didnt even relalize it until i took those photos. haha the thing doesn't even work. lol. but do you or anyone have any advice as to when I should switch the lights? i probably should wait till I get my nutes do you think? I do have them in this really good organic soil. the lady at the nursery told me it was the best and full of food. I just don't want them to get too big. Maybe like another week in veg?

That soil looks interesting. No perlite? Good looking plants. Keep in mind they are only going to get as big as their containers will allow them, so I think you are on the right track looking to flower within the next week. Don't worry about having the nutes right away, they look very healthy, you can wait a few days into flowering to hit them with the nutrients & it should push them to bud. Just make sure you get food that is rich in N & P. For example ( 4-12-0 ) organic or ( 10-60-10 ) chem ferts. Good looking nodes, you should get a good yield for what you've got there. + rep

Ohh & do yourself & all of us a favor & rub the main stem between your fingers & tell us what it smells like. Bet it's nice & skunky but sweet at the same time! bongsmilie

Looks good. It's never too late to add perlite if you transplant to a bigger pot. It keeps the soil aerated & helps it from compacting as well as absorbs nutes for your plants to feed on. It's probably not really gonna hurt you if you don't tho, your plants look great at this point. How much did that soil cost?

It was about $15 dollars for 1.5 cubic feet. Kinda pricey to me but it seemed good.

On my smallest plant it has a leaf with two spots of yellow... should I worry about this? This yellow is also on the tip of a leaf on another plant. But the plants are still growing great.

Leave your leaves alone, they are ok. Possibly a hot spot caused by the CFLs being so close. Do you plan on adding lights?

Okay cool thanks. I might. I really just need to get my grow box finished, it'll be about about 30"x15"x35" should 8 100 watt equivalents be enough? maybe add a few through out the box the get the lower leaves but I haven't really decided.

Ok so your box is 30" wide 15" Deep 35" Tall
30" = 2.5 Ft
15" = 1.25 Ft
2.5 x 1.25 = 3.125 sq feet

Your goal is to get around 3000 lumens per sq foot. I believe a 100watt equivalent is a 23watt CFL, refer to CFLs by actual wattage not their equivalent. I found this http://www.efi.org/factoids/lumens.html that says a 23watt CFL emits about 1,380 lumens.

8 x 1,380 = 11,040 lumens per 3.125 sq feet = 3,532.8 lumens/sq foot. You should be good

Okay cool, thanks for calculating that out for me. I was never good at math haha. But I was wondering do you know if I could switch the lights to 12/12 and keep the 5700k bulbs in there for a week or so, I just don't have the money right now to buy my other ones.

I've got a plant that is outdoor in 95 degree heat that i wanna move indoors. U got any suggestions on bulbs or set up?
Not really I'm pretty new to this, I just looked at what all those professional grow boxes had in them and am trying to make mine kinda based off them. But for one plant it probably just needs like 3 23 W cfls.
