My First Grow and Wondering about mother?

This is my first grow 15 days into veg. I have other pictures from earlier, and can post if people would like. Unfortunately to lazy. I will take any opinions on my plants of what i can do. I am feeding them foxfarm nutes based on the schedule they gave me. I would give you a ppm reading, but don't have a meter just yet so deal with my retardness. The bigger one is called Johny Hopkins and the other one is named Sloan Catterson. and we be blazing that shit up all the time. I am using a 400 watt mh bulb right now and will switch over to my hps bulb once they flower obviously. I have the plants about 2 1/2 ft from the light keeping the temp at a comfortable 82 degrees farenheit. The strain i am using is ch9 aroma fem. Good for medicinal use they say and college is stressful so i neeed as much releif as i can get lol.
The next question i have is which one should i keep as a mother and how do you grow a mother. I know how to clone for the most part, but was wondering after the veg stage could i put her under a flourecent bulb for like 20/4 once the time comes. I am a noob so don't laugh to hard at my retarted questions lol but any help i can get for my first grow would be greatly apreciated!

Thx boys and girls

First off you can find videos all over the net that will teach you how to clone, in my opinion it is always better to keep the stronger plant as a mother, if she is weak her clones will be to, You want the best genetics for your future crop, also Your mother should be atleast 2 months old before you start taking clones off of her, dont bother putting her in flower just keep her in veg...etc

and also try to lower the temp a bit, best is around 75 if you go over 85 you can damage the plants, but besides that they look great

you have your light 2 and a half feet away???

I've got my 400 watt HPS and it's only 8" away from my plants

Yeah thanks man i am keeping it at 82 should i lower it a little more?

82 wont hurt, but its closer to the caution line than we would keep them. We had an issue with our first grow a few years back, it only took a hot day coming out of winter to raise it up to 96

I had them closer but they then burned so i have kept them further away but i could increase them to about a foot and half i think would be ok. I will try it i mean there growing fine but your probably right that they could grow faster so ill try it! thx man
