My first grow ever

So, I tested the PH of the run off. It was about 4.8 or 5. So, I am sure the plant was stressed out because of an PH imbalance. Since it was in Miracle Grow, I decided to transplant even though it was 5 weeks into flower. I figured they would get a lot of stress from transplanting but would be better than leaving them exposed to an acidic PH. Since they were in MG, I know flushing wouldn't do anything but release more nutrients. I transplanted the lady into coco because my local hydro store was out of nuteless soil. Just today I checked the other two ladies and they had the begining signs of a PH imbalance too so I decided to transplant them as well. The store didn't have any Happy Frog but they suggested Sunshine which also doesn't have any nutes. Hopefully this will work out. I gave them a good watering that was PH balanced with 0 nutes. I plan on giving them 1/4 nutes next time I water and get them back up to 100% eventually. I am praying this work and will keep yall up to do. I learned my leson with MG...stay far far away. Never again for me. Hopefully it didn't do too much damnage. I am just really worried that with all this stress that the ladies will herme

If they don't hermie, you've definitely extended your flowering time a little. Careful feeding them still, even though in the new medium. when transplanting, a lot of the MG will stay entangled in the roots and continue to release nutes.

So, I learned a lot from my first clone experience. First, I put in nutrients (thrive alive) to aid root grown and found out that light was leaking through to the water. An organic compound mixed with light creates bad things in water! Created a lot of nasty algae looking brown stuff and about killed all my clones. The water also turned brown and turned the roots a reddish brown color . I also didn't stay on top of making sure the PH was balanced every day which also stressed them out cause 2 to bite the dust. I have since corrected my mistakes and cut out all light by painting my DWC container black and stayed on top of my PH. Two are thriving as you can see in the pics. One is about 4 inches call and the other is about 3 and growing fast every day. Two others are hanging in and I can see new root grown every day but the leaves continue to dry out. Here are some pics as of yesterday.

Anyone think the struggling clones will make it? Anything I can do to help them along? Tips...advice???

PS: the flowering ladies are now 5 weeks in an are hopefully recovering after a huge PH imbalance and transfer from crap MG soil. Hopefully they will put through and will create some nice smoke.

Updated Pics 35 days into flowering. As noted earlier in the journal, I have had PH problems with the soil and had to transplant last week. I have just been giving them 1/4 nutes in Sunshine soil that is totally nute free but they still seem the be getting worse. The runoff of the PH is around 6 so I am just thinking this is still just damage done from the MG soil. The first the 3 pics are of the plant that has the most damage. Pics 4, 5, and 6 are of the ladies that is only mildly damaged and the last pics are of my most healthy lady with only a few spider mites on it. The biggest buds have a diameter of a half dollar. I am mildly optimistic because these girls have taken a beating over the past week or 2 . BTW I will be setting off another round of buggers to keep them at bay starting tomorrow.

46 Days into flowering and the girls look worse and worse. Here are a pictures of the leaves that are on my girls. My difficulty with PH has been documented earlier but I transplanted the girls and got the PH right. I have been monitoring it every time a water. Typically, I have been putting in a PH of 6.5 and it has been coming out about 6.

Below are pictures of the leaves of my ladies. Can someone please help me correct this problem. I don't know what else to do!

And... maybe some heat too? Def look like spider mites got into those ladies..46 days..i wouldn't worry much about the fan leaves anymore..just keep an eye on those buds!!

At 7.5 weeks the spider mites got the best of me. I only got to flush a week before i noticed some webbing. I had been spraying a solution of rubbing alcohol and water every other day and the mites kept getting worse so I stepped up the percentage of alcohol and starting spraying them everyday but to no avail. SO, here ends my first grow.

Pic 1 and 2: Was most effected by the mites but didn't' have bad PH problems, so I think I got a decent result.
Pic 3 and 4: Lady least effect by both PH and mites and ended with best result.
Pic 5: This one was always the runt and was hit hardest by PH problems early so I wasn't surprised with this result.

As my first grown ends, the 2nd grow begins and I will be starting a new grow journal. With the help of THC I hope to expand to a few more strains but for now I am sticking with the Diablo QC. I took a little sample a week ago and dried out quickly since it was a small sample. But, I smoked it and it knocked my socks off so I am still optimistic this first grow will turn out OK even though I had to harvest early. I ordered a scale today. Went to a head shop today and the cheapest was $50 so I didn't get it.


Any guesses on weight???

With this new grow i am doing some experiments. Soil vs. Coco and cloning with DWC vs. rock wool. The pictures do the talking except that in the last pic, the lady on the left is in soil and the lady on the right is in Coco.

mmmm Diablo. I was smoking on some this afternoon and I'm still stoned. Can't wait until my outdoor Diablos finish up.

32 grams dry is my guess. great work my friend. That is better than most people do on their first run. Especially where you started from to where you are now. You probably know 25 times the amount of info about growing as you did before this experiment. Glad to see you enjoy the new hobby! Grow on and may your future grows bring you plentiful harvests!
