My first Grow in a Closet Using CFL's

I guess this is going to be the journal for my first grow! Basically I got a Bubble Gum clone from a club down here in SoCal. It stands about a foot tall and seems to be pretty health Here is a picture of the plant:

I have it sitting under 4 x 100w CFL's that are a few inches from the plant. I have the CFL’s running like this so that they cover four points of light:

It is are in a BOX I made in the closet that is painted all white in the inside for maximum reflection, has a fan bringing air in and I even made a CARBON SCRUBBER myself in 30 minutes with 30 bucks, it has a fan that is pumping air out. Here is a picture of the CARBON SCRUBBER I made myself:

I am putting it on a 12/12 lighting cycle to induce the flowing stage because this is my first grow and I want to do things SMALL and work my way up once I know more. I will keep you all UPDATED on how the grow is going!

What is a good FERTILIZER to get my Bubble Gum plant? It is currently on a 12/12 lighting because I want to get it to start flowering.

this is my first closet grow too. i use just 1 plain 100 watt soft whit light bulb and it work perfectly fine. i also used a box but put tin foil on it to reflect light. i have a fan that i put in a box with a hole to blow on the plants and nailed to the wall. i also used two 2liter bottles and behind the fan to suck fresh air from a hole in the ceiling. i am interested to know how you built that carbon scrubber.

Tiger Bloom is what you need. Make sure that you maintain a pH of 6.3. to 6.8 to prevent lock-up and to reduce stress on the plant. And if you can get your hands on them get the Open Sesame Soluble Fertilizer (5-49-15) , Beastie Bloomz Soluble Fertilizer (0-50-30), and the Cha Ching Soluble Fertilizer (9-50-10). Those three fox farm nutes are meant for flowering and you can usually get them in a tri pack if you look in the right place. My plant is still in week 2 of veg and im using Big Bloom Liquid Plant Food (.01 -.3-.7) which is safe enough to use everytime you water. And also Grow Big Liquid Plant Food (6-4-4) which can be used at the start of week 2. Notice the difference of the NPK levels...Interesting stuff. www.foxfarmfertilizer.com if you want to read more...

for veg, high nitrogen....less phosphorus and potassium....u know n-p-k about 10-7-6
or 15-10-5....for flowering the ones Dr chronic suggested....low nitrogen about 5-20-20 or 0-20-15... about any he mentioned from fox farm...

i like your "4 point" light setup, i'll be using that in the future. did you also get the hps, or just cfl? i'm curious about the details of your carb scrub if you don't mind sharing. a full set up shot would be nice too. :) + rep

all a plant needs to live is light, water, air and dirt. its his first grow so cut him a little slack. the yield won't be much, but trooper i hope you learn from it and enjoy your grow.

how's yours cheezy?

THANKS! I was at the hardware store and I figured, "Hey, It's my first grow so I'll start CHEAP and work my way up!"

As far as the Carbon Scrubber goes, I'll make a DIAGRAM FOR YOU!

Which one of the 3 fertilzers do I use and when do I use it?
Preferebly all three actually. The more of them that you use the better. Just follow the fox farm schedule.

Week 1 of 12/12 - 1/2Tsp of Open Sesame
Week 2 of 12/12 - Same
Week 3 of 12/12 - 1/2Tsp of Beastie Bloomz
Week 4 of 12/12 - Same
Week 5 of 12/12 - 1/2Tsp of Cha Ching
Week 6 of 12/12 - Same
Week 7 of 12/12 - Same
Week 8 of 12/12 - Same

Big Bloom is safe enough to use throughout the entire grow except for the week before 12/12 so that you can flush to prevent lock-up. Other than that use 2Tbl/per gallon for vegging and 1 Tbl/pg for flowering. The more of them you use the better because they complement each other. Each one promotes healthy rooting, speeds up the healing of stressed or diseased plants, and increases essential oil production for extraordinary fragrance and fabulous flavor in buds = better smoke. bongsmilie And also people shun the BB because of the low NPK values but truth be told scientists at foxfarm have confirmed it contains beneficial microorganisms, pre-digested enzymes, vitamins and amino acids are the key to the power of Big Bloom. These ingrediants don't often register high NPK numbers..however they do have a underrated/profound effect on the life of your plant. Personally i like the fact that they are organic based. Keep on smoking bro :peace:

good plan. you can also keep adding more cfl's as the plant grows, which is easy because they're cheap and you have good intuition. Yes Diagram!

I would transplant that asap norcal. The rootball to that plant will run out of room and then growth will be stinted. The lights are nice bro.

The diagram was taking TOO LONG but Here is how I got the idea but Mine is a little different. I will take it out of the box and get some better pictures:

Long Shot

Picture from the top

Picture from the bottom (with the fan taken out)

I used the leftover cutout from the circle on the top to add some more filtration on the bottom. I basically used ALL of the carbon filter.

If you read my previous post you would know that it has already been transplanted
