They are looking nice and healthy.. I am thuroughly impressed with my Rage outcome... Nice sticky dank, all 3 of mine had a dominant deisel smell and taste...

I'm not sure what it is, but for some reason, for me anyway, I have never liked using the peat cups with veggies, because it is hardwired in my brain for some reason that those roots are gong to be stuck within those cups for the remainder of the grow after I bury them. Silly, I know, but a bothersome and nagging enough feeling to keep me away. I think that's what @QuikWay is alluding to as well :D

Yeah, I had the same worry.. Fortunately it was never more than that, 1 was in solo the others in the eat cup, no difference...
I am using the GH rapid root pods now, literally can germ right in them. Did 2 Gorilla Glue #4 for a friend in them, now I have 4 clones in my tent hoping for the best. Never did clones b4, but he is topping so I figured its worth a try...

How is your in-line outtake fan doing? I bought a 4in In-line fan from Vortex and I’m wondering if I need to buy an air controller for my cab. It’s 16”x32”x60” I’m afraid it’d be too powerful for such a small space

Looking good bro! They are growing QUIK. I have to agree with you on the bending of the plants. They respond like crazy to that. The more light those bottom shoots get the more buds you're going to have. I was under the impression that the combination of LST and topping was to achieve this exact result. I am going easy on LST right now, Prob install the scrog tonight. Can't decide on a size/configuration though.
It's crazy.... I allllmosstt feel like i could be posting pictures every 2 days... but i'm going to hold off on my next
post and personal explanation of what I've been doing/has happened for as long as i can resist...
The combo of LST and topping has resulted in ---
what ever node you top at you will have an even number of colas, ie: topped at the 4th node so i now have 6 main colas on this plant.. and this plant will only grow taller from here if you LST
where if you just LST.... (********FROM MY EXPERIENCE SO FAR... AND I HAVE NEVER LST BEFORE THIS GROW******)
in the same time it took for the topped plant to get to where my other plants are now...
my other plants now have 8 - 9 main colas fighting to grow.... and i will HAVE to defoliate to inhibit healthy growth.....

Currently I've stopped LST and am focus on height now...
I've removed the old giant leaves... All plants started even more focus on upward growth....

Short notable Side notes....
Topped Plant.... She's got 6 colas, all separate, no bunching of leaves.
LST'ed... 8 - 9+ colas...... dense cluster of leaves, will HAVE to be defoliated many times i feel, colas not very far apart.
will choose bonsai marijuana plant, every time from here on out...
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I might actually consider starting flower a half a foot earlier than i was thinking (starting at 1 foot)..
I feel like they will be incredibly bushy by the end if i let them get too carried away..
I have great light coverage but i still only have 150watts to play with.. so 3ft is the max height i want to go..

I feel like a 150w HPS could handle a 5 ft plant.. maybe the top 3ft of it atleast, but i can't imagine the buds or the plant being the way you want them...
if someone has more info on 150w HPS grows i'm definitely interested...

I'm having a similar experience. My plants are just so bushy. I mean dense with foliage. I'm scrogging though so before I defoliate I am going to let them grow up into the net some. I meant to post an update on the 20th but RIU was down. Will do it today. Lookin forward to some pics of your girls.

images 2025 and 2022 are of the LEGEND plants. the other three are of CINDY.
They are all doing so well. my dirt is quite low so my plants are JUST NOW above the pot...
that caused leaf problems and was one of the reasons i already start to defoliate..
the other was stacking of leaves. i did not remove very many, but it definitely looked like it was hard growing and too compact.
and my plants seem to be thanking me for it.
the biggest one is approx 11inch by 7 inchs wide and around 4 inches tall.
The topped plant still looks great image 2022. but only has 6 colas and starting growing upwards from there.
which is fine.
positives about that are its much less clustered and i did not have to remove many leaves..

all the other plants have just been LST, and have 8 - 9 colas that will all be around the same height.

they are about 5 or 6 weeks at this point.

How is the smell on the LEGEND babies? I assume it's the crinkle legend s1? Legend x Legend(fem)

Garden is looking up and up, happy to tag along and watch as they grow. :weed:

The chemD x Legend are very stanky. :fire:

I appreciate you for following my grow!
I probably wouldn't be able to keep a journal if others weren't interested, if I am being completely honest... I started a physical journal... but stopped about 3 weeks ago because it felt prettty pointless... and I have this....
Anyways. About the plants!!! Hell yes there is a smell. It's just sweet and skunky at the moment... smells like somone is smoking in my room, constantly...

I feel like this is important to mention....
The plant I topped has crystals growing on them already??? Almost sticky to the touch, and isn't even in flowering stage/hasn't even started to flower whatsoever.. none of the other plants are showing crystsls so clearly yet but are a little sticky, not quite like the plant I topped.. I only gave 5 grows under my belt, not including this one.. I have not experienced this before.
Definitely not complaining..
Just noting it.... if I had a good enough camera I would attempt to take a picture, it is visible!!!

I've heard of that happening, the trichs...All I know is it's not isolated and i can't imagine it to be a bad thing. My plants aren't sticky at all. LoL, hopefully they'll catch up. I've seen some experiments done on here that compare nutrients (done by homebrewer) of the same strain, where one had more trichs but the one with less trichs was preferred by his friends as far as stone and potency goes. Another thing I've read is that UVA light, the spectrum that gives you a sunburn, 20-30 mins a day dramatically increases trichome production. Almost like the plants are producing to protect the buds from sunburn. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with your light, but maybe it has to do with the fact you are using HPS all the way through. It's been 5 days, give us an update :P

that is pretty interesting, actually... i raised the lights a bit, because if the buds are producing trichs now to protect itself, it's probably taking away growth from else where, right? They were starting to get too close anyways.
and yes... i can see how it would be more preferred... i personally am not a huge fan of the couch lock, and some indicas make talking to other people feel weird for a bit... i love to smoke and feel motivated and energized and social...
I also feel like some people get "too high" if something is "too strong".. haha katt williams standup comedy comes to mind :P ...
I didn't even realize it has been so long! Time is flying by.
I cant update via phone(everything is so small and cramped) or i swear would update more! i'm on the site everyday! haha

OKAY! SO. IMG 2054... ive noticed what looks like cal/mag def according to other pictures... I took the leaf off that was the worst.
one plant has it more so than the others, which is weird to me(one other is showing it and not on new growth)... they all get a gallon water during watering(tap water).. and i use fertz every other water. i basically follow the fox farm schedule with some changes as i see fit/i try to read the plants. one thing that was different about this last watering was, i waited 5 days instead of the 3 or 4 days i normally go with.. i don't know if this possibly cause the def..
I just woke up so i haven't check on them yet to see if it has progressed..

The rest of the plants are doing excellent.. i thought i was done LSTing.. but cindy is showing off her sativa finally, its sexy, but its stringy and definitely trying to grow tall, so i've had to pin her back a little.. where the LEGEND is being very indica.. It's getting taller.. but their height on the seed pack says "72 - 84cm"
and that's only 30 something inches... so its trying to be fat and bushy, of course.
the plant i topped is nice and hardy but i cant really induce LST without super cropping her. same with one of the cindy plants. I really wish i could go further into WHY i've come to these thoughts.
unfortunately i am one of those people that has a pretty hard time explaining the deeper details/things that are going through my head AS they are thought of, i can't even write it down without something changing from the initial thought..
But what i think of and what i say/type are pretty different sometimes.

Anyways... i have no experience super cropping so i probably won't do that this time..

All info is welcome! all help is also welcome!!

shit i forgot to mention... i CAN NOT spray the foliage at all due to the intensity of the light.. it will literally burn holes in the plant, which is noticeable in one of my pictures awhile back... needless to say i stopped that immediately.
and didn't mention it on the update... :dunce::dunce:

Supercropping is one strategy I use in keeping the canopy under certain heights, you can do a range of supercropping from lst to simple pinching to aggressive pinching to the point where the stem tissue breaks open. One method I like is to gently gently pull the top and find a lever point and then gently pinch in that area while also pulling the top, makes a nice bend and often they'll come back within 24 hours standing nearly straight up, if you want to keep the supercrop in a lateral position busting of the stem works but is much more invasive (people will cry but it works)

If you just want to do some training some string or bread twist ties can help you pin one branch/set of tops down or laterally and allow some of the others to catch up with almost no damage done to the plant.

Thank you! i might try it if it gets out of control i might try your way! if it spurts... i will break it!
i got me some bread ties and i tied it to the pot next to it.. ha.. It will work for now i guess. I'm going to plant them a little off center next time so this isn't a problem.

HEY GUYS HEY!
I've got one Cindy showing her preflowers:weed::weed:. I will take some pictures later!

This is the only plant showing her sex at the moment. I didn't change the lights or anything. Will probably wait 2 more weeks and then flip.
I'm going to do a hefty pruning today to get some focus on the smaller sites.

IM SO PUMPED THAT YOU STARTED FLOWERING :grin::grin:

Me too bro :p I decided against pruning in veg being first grow and all we will see after stretch. Maybe some here and there. My humidity is already getting kinda hard to control lol so it wouldn't hurt airflow.

I'm excited to see how pruning in veg goes for you. Do you have an idea of when you plan on switching to flower? I'm guessing a week or two given these plants are tend to double in see each week lol

Nevermind...I reread your comments and it says 2 weeks. I can say from experience now that that's a very rough estimate lol

i forgot to take before pictures... so just use pictures from 5 days ago as reference for before hand. ...IM SORRY:cuss:.....
All i did was pluck the biggest leaves all the way around, a few on the inside and nothing else...
It turned out to be around a pretty full handful of leaves per plant.
I didn't have to lollipop the indica plants, they are kind of doing that without help. just about all of the small nodes the plants has produced
are trying to stretch to the light and i don't think i want to remove them...

The Cindy 99 is being a bendy wiggly bush but still nice and sturdy, making its way to being taller than Legend, as it should...

It's been 2 days since these pictures already, as well... so you can ALREADY see new growth and height
the height of the tallest plant is at 9 inches.

AHHHH I KNOW MAN. I don't know how you can do that. lol they are soooo dense! I havent ever been able to not get rid of some of those leaves so i have no idea how much of a difference that will really make...

You are absolutely right, though. i don't think i will be able to wait 2 more weeks!! maybe one more... we will see.. my flowering height goal was 12inchs and they only have 4 more to go... i think they will gain that in the next 7 days!!

Small update.
All Plants!
and then top view of most of them.
the plants are throwing random deficiencies, all small and none on new growth..
i figured i wouldn't PH DOWN my water to 6, today...
I left it at 7, hopefully that doesn't stress out my plants and helps them.

They do seem to get better every time i water them anyways. but they ALSO seem like each one isn't taking up a little of something its supposed to.. seems i've been going through some nute lock out.
I did not know when you watered, your soils ph dropped by itself and then rose again as it dried..... :dunce::dunce::clap::clap:
so my PH has been some where around 5.5 or lower.. when its wet... which explains everything...
https://howtogrowmarijuana.com/hydroponic-marijuana-ph/
this is not my only reference. i did find some good posts here on rollitup but i forgot to save them.
