These were acquired from a reliable source with the leaves cut already. When trying to get clones to root, they need help with transpiration. Cutting off the leave tips help the roots take faster. Less energy is used to keep the leaf green. Sure I need more lights, please send me more CFL's 2700k - 2100k range would be nice. While you're at it I need 8 more to add to the 5 I have. That would be nice. But wait...the heat signature and the heat...ooo must of failed to mention that I dont own my grow spot! Some is better than none. I am determined to get a good yield. Maybe not great but good. When I own it then I'll MH, HPs, UVB and CFL. So for now offer me some encouragement and good suggestions besides HID lights. OOOOOOOOO and next time read the whole thread and then comment. Sounds like you're trying to tear me down for trying to grow with little heat.

After nute change yesterday, the girls did something really funky. All of the leaves curled over backwards with the leaf tips pointing back at the plant. WTF? I looked real good and noticed that they were starting to burn. Hurry!! Nute change again. I remembered trying to balance the PH btwn 5.5 to 6.2 and could not get right at first. The PPM (1120) should be 860 b4 PH is changed according to the GROW BIBLE. It was way too high for now. After the change the PPM was normal for this time PPM 870.:hump: Great. Made adjustment to the light by adding a few "Y's" to get 3 lights over each bigger plant. The girls still did not go to normal-- leaves sticking straight up. So I waited and waited. It looks like the bending of the leaves was to allow the sun shine in and the smaller nodes to excel. So I have a little burning but I think the girls grew out a little and are getting more little chutes. Having a hard time now getting the temp under 85F deg. I need a bigger fan. But I have no loot to get one. Maybe I can coax a friend to give me one.:peace: PH rising all day. 6.7. I'm working to get it stable. Add 5ml if PH down before I left this morning and 5ml again just now.
PPM 990
PH 5.8

The nute overload showed up this morning. They were beautiful and the burns showed. NOT bad but Great. They are still growing though.:hump: A buddy of mine gave me an HPS 100w. Will it cover the area 2x3x7'? I am going to use the red LED's and CFLs also in there also.

Sorry been away. Needed to take care of the girls. I almost lost them. :spew:I could not keep the heat down, they stopped growing and some real shitty looking stuff showed up in the tank. Temp got up to 85F in the tank for 2 days in a row. Its getting warmer outside. I've learned to keep the solution in the tank cooler and cover the top of the tank with mylar to deflect the heat away from the nutes. I will use freezer packs that get used to keep lunch boxes cool to keep the tank cooler when it gets too hot. Anyway, I soaked them with PH 5.7 water for 48hrs and sun light until leaves started looking a lil yellow. Then I gave them 1/2 strength nutes for 24 hrs and then continued with the week three schedule of GH. They are growing well again. Whew again. DWC maintenance is no fun. It has been 4 fridays since I got them. I put the girls in a closet for 36hrs. I will get them out tomorrow @10:30AM and start 10/14 light cycle. Wish me luck. This is my first time. PS they are looking okay considering the trip they've gone through. I've also learned to make up the solution the day before the change. That will allow time to stabilize the PH so that burns dont happen. CHECK EVERYTHING b4 putting the girls in harms way.

NUTE change. Light change. I added 1 week of time to allow plants to grow. I hope that this will offset the 1 week of nonproductive activity. I now on week 4 of the GH grow schedule which is now blooming. Lights are 10/14off. Lights are 2 100W HPS, 2 full spectrum par 38 LEDs and 2 Par 38 RED LEDs. I hope they stay short. Check 'em out. I am going to get buds. The pre flowers already show up. LARGE.
PH 5.7
Temp 84F
Tank Temp 70F

Yesterday I added 5ml of nitrogen to 2.5gal of the solution. Plants were looking a little yellow. Over night the pH rose to 6.5. I added 5ml of PH down.
Girls are looking real good and are getting bushy. I have to open the window sometimes in the room that I moved the girls to in order to keep the right temp. Plus they are in a room with the return air duct that keeps flow of fresh air in the room. I hope that I am doing okay.

PH 5.6
Temp 77F
Tank Temp 65F
PPM 1475

Cool grow, can't wait too see how it turns out! I see you are learning your lessons relating to led vs. hid, lol.
I wanted to mention that your res. temps should not exceed 72 degrees or you will be inviting all kinds of other problems with bacteria etc. in your res. So you are doing a good job on that now! Do you have an air stone in there? I think you do, which tells me that you should be able to maintain the tank temperature at close to the same temp. as the ambient air around the air pump that drives the stone, consider that you are pumping air into the res at a certain temp.
This will get easier as your canopy gets larger, since the plant will shield the lower part of your grow room. For now make sure the air pump is in the coolest place you can put it and you should be ok.

Good luck with your grow!
Youy take it seriously and you will be ok!

1 air stone in the bottom. I'm going to use the LEDs in the underbrush. When these get bigger, I'm changing to 5 gal buckets
