are you giving them any nutrients. they seem very bare???? not much foilage at all. you are gonna need to train them a bit as well or make that space taller cos they are gonna stretch when it comes time to flower

I'm giving them some 12-4-8 Plant food. & i'm unfamiliar with training..

The box is roughly 4' tall. & how can i prevent stretching?

Thanks for the help. :bigjoint:

4 foot should be fine. how many watts of light u got in there? add a couple more cfl's if u can, unless that one on top is a big'un.

sorry, what i meant by training was LST. bend the stems gently sideways and tie em down until the whole plant is pretty much horizontal. helps keep the canopy even and better coverage when using fluroescent lights as they arent as intense as HID. less need for deeper light penetration as its all around the same height.

I've been pushing the leafs so that they are horizontal, but i will start tying them down.

& i have 2 100 watt bulbs and 2 60 watt bulbs plus whatever that bar light is. so 320+ watts

are they actual watts or incandescent equivalent?? if you have a look about on the forums you will see people doing lst if you want to get an idea. i have done lst on my current grow. makes for a right bush.

i topped once there was 6 nodes (topped right down to just above second node)to promote 4 tops. i only got 3 in the end but hey. she got a bit sick after i did a h2o2 treatment for my gnat problem. (soil must have had them in) but sorted now. also with cfl's u need to look at the actual watts. u probably have 2 x 23w and 2 x 9w plus the 2 t5's so proably closer to 100 actual watts. u will need to add a bit more if you wanna get decent bud. i would add at least 4 x 23w bulbs of mixed spectrums. it looks very blue the light u have. might wanna get some 2700k bulbs.

Yeah this was my setup for Vegging, Like i said i wasn't expecting these to flower yet.

So you think i should have 4 23w and 2 9w?

CFLs don't put off much heat. Don't be afraid to let them barely touch the leaves. A few small burns here and there won't affect the plant aside from the burns. But, of course, don't let the light touch the buds. You want them about 2-3 inches away from your plants, max. Also, keeping the lights that close will keep your plant from stretching too much.

Training is also a good method to keep the plant short, as mentioned above.

LST train them with duct tape. Gently pinch a stem in your fingers and roll it back and forth CAREFULLY! until its droops...take a fan leaf and then tape it to the side of your pot. Worked for me and have multiple bud sites. its ghetto engineering...but effective.

do a bit of training with them before they start budding, once they are in flower its almost impossble to bend the stems without snapping them. they go rock solid. i thinks its like a defense mechanism like the frosting over to preserve itself.
