my first harvest (and some unexpected surprises)

So the day finally came when I felt she was ready and did the deed.

3 hours later, I had 5 big colas and a whole lotta trim.

The surprise? Seeds! How could this happen to me? (lol) I'm not quite sure how widespread the seeding is, but a lot of lower small buds have 1 or 2 seeds each. I did not see any signs of a pollen sac so I have no good idea on how it happened. Bag seed so I assume its to be expected...

The bud is still realllllly sticky and smelly. It looks great.. just have no clue on how many seed there really are..

Anyone with similar experience on the subject? On mobile so give me a sec for pics.

Hermie sac probably hidden in a bud somewhere.

It still smells and looks great

Will this dramatically affect quality?

its believed that a plant that has been pollinated produces more THC for various reasons to deal with nature, not sure how proven it is but ....meh looks like some nice buds ya got there good job. and dont sweat the seeds, almost every bag of bud i ever bought had seeds in it so they cant be that bad.

don't worry about it. based on the pic it's a total non-issue. if it's only a few seeds as you describe there was probably a nutsack or two somewhere in there. no biggie. the cola looks awesome. i'd even pop a few of those seeds in the future. might be garbage, might be killer, might be female, might be hermie. who cares? if you have bit of extra space and a little time, surprise seeds can produce some surprise plants.

My stock sativa producer is hermie, but if I harvest at 7-1/2 weeks only a few seeds down low.
I have one customer with a special request, 12 week full seed. He doesn't mind half the weight being seed, absolutely swears by the increased high.
Gives me a mild headache, but does have more couchlock effect than earlier harvest.

I'm harvesting some Maui right now and it looks and smells like one of the best strains I've grown and I'm noticing some seeds in the lower branches.

Good post... I have encountered the "low-branch seeding" when I let it go long. First time it happened I was so bummed. Ended up with about 8-9 seeds with a dry weight of 3.5. Effects, however, were excellent. It always seems it is those areas with diminished light. I would suspect that this isn't so much of a problem for scroggers or LST'ers as the even/open canopy allows for more light on bud sites.
