My first 'real' grow

Here is a picture of day 21 since they popped out of the soil. I am going to be turning my lights to 12/12 for a week to find out the sex, then back to 20/4 to veg a bit more, and cut clones.

I started on 12/12 last night. I'm going to be doing this for a few days, then going back to 20/4. Hopefully that is enough to show sex on my plants. After another two weeks back in vegging, i'll cut a couple clones off each for future mothers, and flower the big ones. When I harvest i'll keep only the clones that correspond with the best harvested plant. I'll get another picture up later. They are doing very well.

I topped all my plants tonight. I cut just below the latest new growth, at the node. I hope thats how I do it, haha. Should be fine.

Next weekend I am off to the grow shop. I'll be getting a 600w HPS with a air cooled reflector and a real fan. I hope my babies show sex by then. I did four days of 12/12, now i'm back to 20/4. Hopefully that was enough to have them show sex.

I'll get some more pictures up in the next week.

Below is a picture I took today. They are five weeks old today. I pulled out three males yesterday. That would be awesome if I only had three males out of the 11 plants. I topped them last week. On Tuesday I am going to the grow shop. I am getting a 600w HPS, a air cooled reflector, and a good fan. I am not sure if I want to clone any or just start my next batch from seeds again. After my harvest i'll invest in some good seeds and do some real strains. So when I do put my plants into budding that will have given them 6 weeks to veg. That seems long enough.

I picked up a 600w hps with air cooled reflector, a more powerful fan, and some fox farm big bloom today. Tomorrow I cut clones and put my babies into flowering. Still no signs of any other males. 8 female out of 11 plants.

I got my new light all set up. I need to get a better oscilatting fan today. The can blowing in air from the hole in the door is moving the plants around enough, but I want something to blow at my reflector. My temps are staying around 80 - 82 with the air cooled reflector. I was hoping for them to be lower, but I guess that isn't bad for a 600w HPS with a cheap air cooled reflector. I am going to attempt to cut clonnes tomorrow. Hopefully them being in 12/12 for two days won't be to much of an issue.

i am new at this but i think instead of cooling your hps light with grow room air u should cool it with air from the room the closet is in. that air is probly cooler.

Yeah, but i'd have to cut holes. This summer I plan on doing that, but for now i'm going to keep doing this.

I'll get another picture posted tomorrow. I put two two liter bottles with the sugar/yeast mix in to add some CO2.

And won't your fans take it all away?

I thought about the CO2 being sucked away, but I put the bottles on the opposite side of the closet, so at least the CO2 has to be pulled through the plants to be sucked out, and CO2 is heavier than normal air, so it might stay lower or something. It was like 50 cents to do a CO2 bottle, so even if it does nothing, it was good practice. I do intend on drawing air for my air cooled reflector from outside the room on my next grow. I need to get in the attic and have a vent installed. I am getting my house resided in the summer, so I will wait for that until I start cutting holes in the siding and putting vents that lead to a grow area.

My plants are doing good. Today is the end of week one of flowering. I found two more males the other day, so that leave me with 6 females out of 11 total plants. I started some seeds for my next grow. I will be buying some real strains soon, which is when I will start cloning. I was all ready to clone, but I didn't want to clone bagseed.

Five weeks of vegging under a 400w MH and so far it has been one week of budding under a 600w HPS.

Hopefully they turn out good. I've been using half strength Fox Farm Tiger Bloom (1 TSP per gallon) and some molassis (1 TSP per gallon)

Below is a picture.

Today would be week three of flowering. I am using FF Tiger Bloom and some molasis for nutes. Everything seems to be going well. My room stays around 80 durring the light period, and 60 during the dark period. I'll have to find my digital camera and get some new pictures.

hay toker looking really good. check mine out there two weeks in to flower under 1000hps i got nine moms at different hieghts tallest being 5 ft already. there just some bagseeds like yours. i wasnt going to clone either but did it anyway thinking it would be good practice to hone my skills. i use technoflora at half strength every two waterings, with molasses. added co2 in gallon jugs two of them right behind the fan to blow across plants. good luck ill be checking in to compare our grows
