They were planted in April. They're big and frosty, but no amber trichs! C'mon, its December already! Days are down to 10 hours!
We've had a couple of hard frosts, but they're hanging in there. The fan leaves are mostly gone.

The strain is a sativa dominant, but the seeds are second generation from an random assortment ordered from a seed-bank, so who knows. This started out as an experiment just to see if I could get a decent grow. Next year I will order some real quality seeds with known characteristics.

So the big question: do all strains eventually get some amber trichs? When I look at them with a 30x loupe and the sun is shining on them it is difficule to determine if the trichs are clear or cloudy.

Yeah my Head bands are doing the same thing. No amber signs on the trichs yet. They have turned purple now from the colder nights lol. The trichs are turning purple. I just went ahead and started flushing. Planning to pull in a little over a week. It is hard to flush in cooler weather since I can do over a week and not need to water.

Well since the weather has been mild, I left a couple of plants unharvested..... until yesterday. I was in a hurry so I didn't get a chance to see what they look like under the loupe, but a cold front was moving in, so I grabbed them. They smell stronger than the ones I yanked a month ago.

This was my second year growing (well at least since college several decades ago!), and I now have a couple of year's worth of smoke at the rate I use. It is pretty damn hard to justify the price of weed on the street!

Also, FWIW, in just 9 days the days will start to get longer again!

You don't want amber trichs on a sativa anyhow.. otherwise the high will pretty much be an indica high.
