my grow box design

Let me know what you think

I am going to build a grow box out of an old dresser measuring 36"x20"x54". I am going to gut the interior and remove the front pannel and turn it in to a lockable door. The goal of the project is to create a grow box that looks like nothing more than a dresser. The grow medium and main light source will be the areogarden with (give or take)11 clfs for maximum light. I will be using four computer fans with low dB and high air flow. One for the air intake, One for circulation and stalk development and two for the exaust. I will be designing tubing for the exaust and intake fans, most likely out of pvc. For scent and dust control I will be building carbon filters baised upon a design I found on rollitup, the one with carbon from the fish store and the 3m pad, which will fit inside the exaust and intake tubing, and then pantyhose will be fixed to the end to keep the dust out. The whole box will be air tight and hopefully the two exaust fans will create enough negative air flow to keep it scent free. There will also be an ionic breeze in the room next to the box to help with odor as well. Let me know what you think I have a rough paint picture but I do know know how to load it.

just look at its components. I was gonna purchase that shit too, but realized its least expensive to turn your dresser into a DIY masterpiece. Just use lots of CFL's. I saw some big Brinks brand CFL's at Walmart that are like 18 dollars a piece. They are in the Flood Lamp section. The money you would spend on that aerogarden you can make a bad ass cabinet by researching this site.

By the way, I started preping my cabinet but a little apprehensive drilling holes. Check it out and lemme know what you think.

I am trying to go a cheap a possible but fortunetly I already have an areograden deluxe. What I am looking for in this project a grow box that can sit in a room and not be noticed and produce andout 4 ounces every 4-4.5 months.

in that case. there is a thread somewhere on here that kept the front of that drawers and added some type of snappy things on it to make it still look like a dresser. Just get some weather strips and make sure yo hide the light leakage.

and post pics! lol

my sugestion would be to use computer fans an use pvc to vent it out of the back kind of like mine, and bring in cold air from the bottom.

Sounds easy! lol I'm a newbie! I was probably gonna see about going to get some tomorrow. what kind/speed do you have? You think a couple of these would work? i'm on a budget! lol Its a Thermaltake 80mm Ball Bearing Case Fan

Also, what do I use to wire it?

I think I might try to wire the fans up to a switch so I could possibly control the speed. Might hit up radioshack and see if they can help.

If you do that, please put me down with a how-to! I need this whole cabinet to look real neat and I have a personal deadline of mid-november. When you wire a PC fan or a duct fan to a spliced plug, can you do more than one per plug or is that a fire hazard NO-No? lol
