My Grow Room With Pics!!!

well im fresh to this site so i wanted to show you guys what i have going, and if possible id like to get some feedback from some of the more experienced guys. Here ya go...

3.5ft by 5ft closet
2 Indoor Plant fluorescent 4ft tube bulbs and a timer thats now 20/4


does the set up look ok we have been watering when the soil looks dry and crumbly on top and every other watering we have been using plant food mixed water.

for some reason they dont seem to want to grow up its been about a month now and that pic is from today....any suggestions.?

probably bigger pots and more light, def. more light

i have 3 more lights that hang how should i arrange them? And will it be to much?

what are they? more fluros? if so hang them tight together more light the better, and whats your lighting period? 18 hours, 20 hours, 24 hours?

3 of the 60 watt coil fluros... in hanging fixtures . We started them out for the first month at 24/0 and after the first week in the bigger pots i switched to 20/4 the stems looked really fluffy and white is that normal??

excuse me the roots not the stems.....

honestly the best thing to do is 24hrs if you can, and give them lots of light. also make sure to not over water, what type of water are you using? tap, bottled,distilled?

Well i heard a few things about water...
right now we are using regular tap water after sitting to room temps, and open to evaporate most of the chlorine, is this a good method. And i bought plant food mixture that mixes one gallon to one small scoop, i water with the mixed water every other time.

i have a buddy that was doing that with tap water, he lives in a city so its pretty bad water, i saw his plants after he watered them once and i told him to buy some bottled water or distilled, so he did that and his plants have taken off, and dont over water them. you have to figure that out, trial and error.

We have a full bucket of rain water is that good to use?

i think the more i read the more confused I get.....

well one way to make sure your all set is buy bottled water, you kno that is good. its really simple man, dont be gettin confused

Hey yoyo, wait a minute, I have a question if you please. Are you saying those plants are 5 weeks old? Seedlings do not require additional nutrients for the first few weeks in soil, just plain ph'd water is fine. Maybe I'm confused ( or high).

During its fall it might pick up some dust that will settle in the bottom of the barrel. Leave the dust in the bottom and you will have great water. Where did you get your information. You have done some studying yes?? VV

We are thinking of going to switch HPS lights do you think that would be a good idea and how many watts would we need. Trying to get one of the huge spot lights ? What do you think?

well I still really dont know what to use, for sure its going to be CFL. Its cheap, easily access able etc.... We are going to have 8 little ladies going soon. I need to know how many watts to use thats basically what we cant figure out.
