My Harvest Smells like Putrid Wet Grass

One of my plants that I harvested smells like wet grass. It's actually disgusting. This is only 1 out of 3. They were all flushed for 3-4 weeks so the chemicals should be gone. Then air dried for about a week and now in jars.

Will leaving this in a jar for a month to cure fix the smell, do you think?

14 grams of bud that I am afraid to smoke because of the smell. :o

You know what ALWAYS has a distinct smell of wet grass? Mids.

Maybe you just got some bad genetics?

Sell it. lol

If its dried to a snap (the stem is what i am referencing) before going in the Jars you wont be doing anything to it. You need it to have a little moisture content in order for it to cure further in the jars... or that was always my understanding of the curing process....

Yea, that sounds like it might be the problem.... its crazy how people spend all this money/time/effort and they can't get the final step in the process down..... oh well, you live and learn i guess...

Look for a powdery or grayish film on them. Get a paper bag and let them finish in that. KEEP SMOKE ALIVE!!

Or put them all in a carboard box with a lid. Open it daily and move the buds around. I have done this as well as a large paper bag and works. They should have hung for at least another week though I think. :peace:

I have a half lb awaiting my new bubble bags. Its in 2 seperate gallon ziplock bag. It smells funny, kind of like wet grass. Even a little acrid aroma. I let them air out all day in the ziplock but it still has the funny smell.

I agree with skate hawaii your bud needs to be cured. It may smell different from the rest because it is a different pheno. Cure the buds for atleast 2 weeks before smoking.

I'm about a week into curing one jar and the smell is coming around, some really really sweet smells I never smelled before :)

It also smelled like wet grass during drying, that's the chlorophyll breaking down.

i had a plant do this once. it was sick a bit throughout the flowering cycle. it was an autoflower, easy ryder. the curing did nothing but enhance the hay smell. im certain it has to do with the way i grew it and fed it not the way i dried and cured. also the weed was bunk. it tasted bad and didnt get me too hi.
