My Hash Journal

I don't want to fully dissuade you but in my opinion it's very important to start with 8 bags and then once you get to know your resin that you're working with you can remove a couple bags from the system. I use 6 bags.

4 is a decent place to start though as one can always buy single bags at a later date but you will never get the top quality that you will with 8 bags. That is..... if you're after the absolute best quality possible. If not, 4 should suffice.
I think I will go with the 4 bag for now and upgrade later like you said. As for the dab question, I don't have a dab piece yet, and don't think I'll be able to get one for a while (not in a house I feel safe having one, and I don't necessarily live here either, etc..) so for now I'm just smoking bowls from a bomonein the meanwhile, my main issue is I gotta figure out what to do with this 6 pounds of dry trim an I have no money >.<

You looking to get full melt or just bowl toppings? You could always dry ice extract then rosin press your dry ice extraction or smoke bowls of it.

I hand mixed for years, get a washing machine then see what you think, your opinion would change.
I really don't think the washing machine would change my opinion. My hand mixing doesn't thrash whatsoever. The only thing that would make me want to buy a machine or machines would be commercial production.

I'm not saying you can't get a good clean mix with a washing machine, just saying hand mixing doesn't equal thrashed material if you are gentle enough.

Good suggestions. Dry ice hash may be the best option for this gentleman at this point in time with his current situation.

The best quality hash at the cannabis cup is made with washing machines. Look at Instagram at the extraction companies they use washing machines that are insultated on the outside with foam to keep it even colder. The washing machine is so gentle it just swishes water past a mesh bag with your product in it, less work better quality. I don't doubt you are good at hand mixing but I was too, then I got a washing machine and i'm making better hash than the dispensaries that won the cannabis cup ( Natural Mystic Caregivers is a local place they won the cup several times for their bubble). The most important thing is the quality of what you use anyway then the process you do it with.

Well, for right now, I'm in no position to go out and buy anything, so I was wondering if I could improve my "homemade" way with stuff lying around the house or cheap enough for me to only have to save up (mind you, I don't get money that often) and buy an inexpensive material or tool to improve my outcome product

Sorry bro we sometimes get carried away with our suggestions. :P We take this shit very seriously haha.

The big upside to dry ice hash is that you only need a single bag/mesh and a few pounds of dry ice. The downside is it doesn't usually make the best dabbing material but it sounds like that is not of any concern to you at the moment.

Haha, no worries man, it helps to get any advice at all. Knowledge is power! Lol anyways, I'll look into that as well though, as it does seen relatively inexpensive. Hopefully I wont be so unfortunate with my financial situation in the near future and I can just order or go out and buy all these things you guys are mentioning >.<'

You can get a pound of dry ice for like 2 dollars or less, with that much trim you might need 3-5 pounds. Good luck!

. I still have an extra 75 (yellow) from my old set. Should I stack that on top of the other 75 just to see what it catches? Dumb idea?

No clue but it probably wouldn't hurt to try. Are they the same brand?
Yes. I was so happy with the first set that I bought another. I would have liked to find a site like this about 40 years ago! It would have been so much easier keeping up with technology. This is the info we had to work with back in 70s. No Ed or Jorge yet either!

Right on is that Robert Clarke's Hashish! or a different book?
I'm telling ya, back then in our neighborhood, if somebody got caught with a porno under their mattress, mom would flip out, Dad would pretend to do the same, and "dispose" of the filth in question, but if we got caught with a Dope Mag, it was "curtains" Drug counseling, clergy, exorcism...... Boot camp!

Well after much researching and thought, I decided I will hold off on my hash adventures for now. I am much too broke and without a job for a long time from now, and don't even have that great of product currently to even make hash that's worth sharing. I will be posting the pictures of my last batch I attempted when its done drying, after that though, I think I'm just gona kief the rest of the trim, poorman style with my pantyhose. Thanks again everybody for all your feedback, input, suggestions, and advice. I'll possibly continue this later once I've actually got some money to pursue this hash dream of mine. Have a wonderful day/night, happy holidays, and stay high! ^_^

You can get silk screens (dry sif) cheap from screenprinting.com ryonet screens.

Old school hash makers in nepal, morroco, Afghanistan would use silk scarfs or silk fabrics to sieve to make kief and hash.
