My homebrew

Hello all,

I was doing some research on different nutrients and better ways to improve my plants well being.

I came up with a formula, which I will be running on my flowering ladies.
Ingredients as follows.

Kelp from my local ocean
Jamaican Bat Guano
Flora Blend Compost Tea
Rainwater

I soaked the kelp in phd water and also washed it to remove any salts. I read this was not needed but wanted to take some precautions.

I collected the rainwater from a downspout which was filtered by a screen, which was then poured into another container, screening out any sediments.

I placed the kelp on the bottom of a 1gal container, added the guano and tea then rainwater.

Has anyone tried this kind of formula? Or anything similar? Does my formula sound too strong or weak? I also will be doing foliar sprays with kelp and just water.

Be careful with the unprocessed Kelp since you don't know exactly what's in it. You may want to run a few tests to see how it affects the plants before regular use. Your mix seems pretty low in Nitrogen. Also, Kelp alone probably won't be able to supply enough K for late flowering before the other substances in it start reaching dangerous levels. Be sure to watch rainwater Ph, it can fluctuate drasticly in certain areas. It wouldn't hurt to occasionally use bottled water to rinse away any buildup from the rainwater. Kelp does make a good foliar feed. Make sure to alternate both ferts and foliar feeds with plain water.

I put earthworm castings, jamaican guano and mexican guano, in a nylon screen bag, and place it in water, and then add molasses. I have an air stone in the bottom of the bucket, and i use an air pump to keep it aerated. I let it go for a day, and then mix the freshly brewed tea with water, 50/50 ratio. That makes a great organic fertilizer for your soil, full of beneficial aerobic bacteria. I'm thinking of adding kelp to the solution.

All the bloom tea recipies that I have in my books call for a little Epsom salt (disolve in warm water first). Epsom salt for magnesium and sulphur that the plants need. A small amount of Hydrogen peroxide to keep the medium clean.

This a pic of my G48, shes getting some nice Purple Hues..It has been getting real cold outside at night..around 50 degrees..Same day flowering time as the indoor ladies..she was the runt, so I planted her outside to experiment with the outdoor flowering cycle....I have about 25 or so more days before January and the days will just get longer...so yes it was a tight window to flower..probably get an 1/8 out of her..I will just think of it as my Super Exclusive Glory Stash..LOL Again this is my third educated grow...tips would be appreciated...although I know I do need more light for bigger buds for my inside ladies....
