Please feel free to let me know what you think and any opinions you might have. My grow room isn't fully up and going as i have yet to get a paycheck since i got them. I am getting paid soon and will be upgrading to a better grow room. and will have more stuff at that point. Cant wait......

Well it is the second day of my grow journal I woke up this morning and went and checked on the little darlings and was suprized to see one of them so tall now that i have to make a new dom for the nursery, she was bending over because she hit the top. She wasn't like that yesterday but she is looking really happy now I have changed the way the light shines on them until i can get my check and get some better equipment i have kept the light on them for 24 hours the last two days to help stimulate some growth because they looked stunted when i first got them. Some are still looking stunted but much happier and look like they are going to grow they opened up their leaves. I have a feeling this makes them happier. some of them were in the "praying" stance with their top leaves pressed together but not any more.
The temp has been around 70 to 80 in there box not to warm but my house stays at least 75 so with their lights on it raises the temp a little but there box is airated because it isn't the total darkness yet. when that time arrives I will have made a much better box for them with fans and everything, I am hoping to start the transplant to bigger pots in the next week or so. this will be my only transfer for fear of putting them in to shock or stressing them out what size pots should i transfer them to? just a question.

Well i just moved the lights closer to my little ladies as they were "praying" with the leaves, And i heard that they might be to far away so i moved them closer now the lights are like 3 inches from the plants hope this will help. other then the praying thing they are looking great. i have cut back on watering for fear of over watering.
and i will be watering tommorrow it feels like the plant beds are a little moist so by tommorrow the should need a little. So far they are looking pretty good for what i have. Can't wait till i get paid to upgrade the grow box. it will be much better then.
Thanks for listening everyone.

Hey mnoel, your seedling look fine. Keep in mind overwatering is the number one problem for new growers, we have a tendency to feed them with a firehouse, when what the babies want it a little ......, not even a small spoon yet. The sure way to tell is with a moisture meter, I got Mine at wally world for like four bucks. You want to remember for the roots to grow, you want them to have to search a little for water and they need to get oxygen. The water moving down to the bottom of the pot, pulls oxygen (air) down to the roots. That is why you want it to go a 'little dry' before watering again. You shouldn't have to water them more than every three days or so.
Garden Knowm swears the best way is to get familiar with the way your plant 'feel's when you have just watered it, and then again just before you water it again, 'feel' the weight. The problem is that in the early stages of their lives under and over watering can both start out with the same symptoms, they will get 'droopy' so you have to 'feel' or test to find out which. If you like you could take a look at some of the seedling picture I have posted in my journal, its in my signature at the bottom. I have everything posted there from germination to final transplant and placing in a flood and drain system. The last set of seedling, some HempStar/TexadaTimeWarp seeds were planted on the 17th so those pictures should help you. VV

Well it has been exactly one week since i recieved the little ones and good news is i haven't killed them. For me that is a miracle... Ok so i have one plant that seems to be larger then the others, it has 14 leaves whereas the rest only have 6 leaves or 8 leaves but they are also smaller in statue, but they are starting to thrive more under the lights as i have now moved them closer to the light. their leaves are open and getting as much light as they can it is really something else. I Will be posting new pics here shortly so you can see the difference between them a week ago to when the pics are posted.
Thanks to everyone who has posted and will be posting it is great to have som help when you have questions and need some answers.

Oh my goodness have you ever had one of those days where nothing you goes right? Well the last two days have been like that, first i was going to post some pics then my camera went on the fritz so i am sorry i am unable to post pics for a bit. But as soon as it gets fixed i will be posting them.
Then the most tragic of things happened i dropped one of the babies and she fell out of her pot. I was trying to add some more lights to the box and some how with the plant on the other side of the room she fell. How that happened i am still trying to figure it out but i rescued her and added some more water to her cause she was a little dry and then i put her under some more lumens i now have 6400 lumens for the little ones and this morning when i checked her she is looking better then she was yesterday before the fall so do you think she is ok? She looks better and bigger. I think the lights are helping.
Oh i should tell ou her root ball stayed in one clump so i don't think she was to juggled around and none of her branches broke. I am at work now so i won't be seeing her for another 6 to 7 hours and hipefully that will tell how she is doing.
And hopefully my camera will be operational tonight or tommorrow. Thanks for any advice on the fall of my baby.
Hope you all have a good day.

Thank you so much for the information. I was really starting to worry but when i got home tonight after work i checked on my little angels and that one was looking better then it did before the fall but i also added 2 more lights for another 3200 lumens on the plants. The lights are helping out so mych within 24 hours they are looking so much better. and i will be adding more lights as they get bigger. I want to make sure my babies are well luminated. and that they get the best light they can.
thank you for assuring me i didn't kill it i was really scared at first and wanted to slap myself.

Well i got my camera up so i am adding a couple of pics to this post the one in a terra cotta planter is actually the one i dropped and this pic is from today. so she is looking great. i have lost one little one it looks like and tonight when i get home i am going to take her out. It is sad to loose one so young. and then there are the twins as i am calling her. two plants in one thing.
I am going to be transplanting into bigger pots within the next week just got the pots yesterday and i think the plants will really like them.
But before i do that i am working on the box since the planters i got are bigger then the box i have now. we are moving the plants into a closet with the lights and a fan for this moment and soon I will be adding some more lights and soon a carbon scrubber for the box as i live in an apartment complex and dont' want people to Smell the little ladies as they grow.

Couple of thoughts. Your at work so this might not help, you can prop that plant back up, it may repair itself and grow. I use shish kabob scewers, cost like a buck, Ive bought 2 packages in almost two year, available at any grocery store.
When I visited my hydro store we had a discussion about carbon filtering. It seems what some folks are doing now is jsut setting the carbon scrubber with a fan on top in the grow area, no exhaust, just recycling the carbon scrubbed air. Make sense to me. Videoman40, no longer a member, posted a simple bucket set up for controlling smell using Ona blocks, I made one and it work fine. I may have pictures of the in my Current Set up Journal. If not and you are interested I can post how to build one. It seems like PotPimp had posted an inexpensive odor control device he uses, around $30.00 on e bay I believe. VV

well i am going to be transplanting my babies tonight into larger pots and we are moving the grow set up to our closet as to help hide them. they are under constant light 24/0 as of right now and i think i am going to be keeping them on that for a little longer as they seem to really be liking that. going to be buying a light timer so that i can put them on a schedule in the next two weeks of 20/4 and then slowly start changing the timing down to the 12/12 i hope this helps the plants to adjust just like the natural sunlight changes. im thinking i will be doing the shift about once a week add a half or a full hour to the darkness. what do you think? Also i was looking at ferts and nutes yesterday to see which ones i like but im not really sure which i should get (walmart doesn't have a big selection) there was a lot of miracle grow stuff which i really don't want to use i want something different but does anyone have a suggestion of the best nutes to be used in the plants and do the nutes and food have to be watered in or can they be mixed in with the dirt? I thought the watering of them would be better because then i can adjust if there are any problems however if they are in the dirt they are kind of stuck there. am i right? thanks.

Well it has been a busy night, i just transplanted my little ones, and my firneds she did her own and is taking hers home this weekend. I also redid my grow area for now i can't move them to my closet until i get an extension cord (forgot that) well i had to make my area bigger it is more then alittle getto but it will get the job done until such time as i can get them put into my closet. they are going to be doing so much better now that i transplanted them. their roots were getting a little bound up so now they have plenty of room to grow and hopefully get bigger and stronger. I am feeling better about my babies now. I will post some pics later when i get some taken of it.

These pics are about 4 days old sorry they are so late couldn't get to the computer with the camara until today.
This is right after the transplant. 6 Inch pots should be good for an in closet grow i think.

These pics are new today, taken this morning before i left for work... They are looking a little better and larger hopefully i can get even more lights for them here soon. I have a small fan on medium in the box with them gently blowing the stems and air around to help stregthen and circulate everything. I haven't started nutes yet. and am only at week 3 and a half, i have seen some plants so much larger then this already, but i am happy with what i have going so far as i haven't killed them (im not usually good with plants) i have even reserrected like two seedlings that started to die off. i am so proud of myself for that.
well i will keep you posted.

ok will try to post pics in another post cause it ain't working here.

If those pictures are from four days ago and you have normal growth now you should still be fine. I had a glitch with the blues too and they are doing all right now. 6" square pots would be big enough for hydro, I thought you were going to stay with soil? VV

i am staying with soil i just got a good deal on 6" pots. the pots were only 1 each unlike 3 dollars each so i went with the cheap ones.
Which gives my babies a little more root room which everyone wants that.

They are looking better then they could and i am happy with them. They are looking happy and they like to be sung to i know it woulds weird but they do like to be sung to and they like music and stuff like that.
