so the trainwreck IBL seed went into rockwool

2 OT PU seeds went into rockwool and 2 into root riots

2 BB went into rockwool, 1 into a root riot and 2 into paper towels

fingers crossed, i paid a shitload for those blueberry seeds and they have been duds
I have been takin a peek here and there in yer thread. Um...I made some Blue Satellite f2's that should be good to go. I have a bunch of other stuff as well if ya get low on the bean count. I will be watchin and willin to lend a hand if I can.

wow, that is quite a generous offer, but these are my older seeds.

i have a nice collection of viable seeds and am currently running 9 strains in veg and adding another 9 to 10 before end of the year 2018.

with that said i have followed your thread a little bit and am interested in what you have going. i will get around to snagging a pack or two of your genetics in the future. like i said, looks like you have some real nice stuff going on. not to mention i appreciate someone who is willing to help. shows me they are good people.

ok, my seeds have been kept in a dark, cool drawer for years. i have been successful germinating 12+ year old beans from this collection, so i think storage has been sufficient.

however, i think i can do better. so all my seeds are now stored in my mini fridge at about 38 degrees. i also added a few grains of rice to each individual vial and sealed them tightly.

I'm anxiously watching this thread as it progresses, years of sidelining freebies and crosses that were just fleeting experiments makes me want to devote time/money to my past projects, but the flavor of the year and the new shit on the block always seem to keep me away from devoting time to some seeds over others... I'm starting a few sativa landraces for hybrids now, and at my current pace, I won't see them for 4 yrs! I'm glad I read through this whole thing, it's given me motivation to crack(or attempt to) some old seeds.

a lot of what you said is the way i felt and saved up seeds i never got time to run. you know that flavor of the week can get your attention.

best of luck popping some old beans, there is fire in some of them for sure.

I pack seeds in brown rice and store in tins inside the freezer. When I germ, I soak for 24 hours and usually get 100% germ rate on beans that have been sitting since 2010-2011. If packed properly in a safe desiccant, the freezer should keep them longest, possibly out living you. Well, thats the hope anyway.

Got some older Romulan F2 beans in the freezer from the original Romulan Joe cut. They are just begging to be cracked.

This weekend i will start the germination process for the following oldies

AK-47 - Serious Seeds
Lapis Mountain Indica Cannacopia
Bubblegum - Serious Seeds

The AK and Bubblegum i popped and grew back 5 years ago. they sucked.

the LMI is a pure afghani indica. would like those to germinate for sure.

gonna give the blueberry, ot purple urkle and purple berry bx a few more days.

Do you ever keep a cut around for any length of time? When your popping so many seeds of lots of strains and different phenos , how do you keep track with drying n curing. So they don’t get mixed up
What is needed for you to keep a plant around for the long term?

I would love to pop seeds like you, but I’m sure I’d end up loosing something special in the mix with to many going at once .

I have my girls that I always run then I
pop 5 ish seeds , grow them out n take a clone , as soon as I see a root into flower .
Then depending on what’s happening with the clone , I’ll start killing the plants off. Then I run the ones that made it .
Then after that crop, I’ll only keep the best
Then I do it again with the other half of the pack , then take the best one .
Then I compare to my fire to see if it makes the cut .

I’m always looking for a strain that I want to keep around . It’s not easy, I’m too picky .

I currently have a dozen strains in various stages of veg and multiple phenos of some plants until I make a final selection.

Plan on starting 10 more strains this year too.

I create a label for every seed or clone and it stays with the plant, even through drying and curing

Currently I have 4 strains in all stages of growth, I have 2 strains in seedling stage, 3 different phenos each, and just started another 1/2 pack of seeds . That’s more then I want of a mix , but I just can’t stop popping seeds hunting for special phenos .

What would you say your pop rate is for finding a special plant ?
I think I’m at about 1%

Only 1%? For me it's between 5-10% worth flowering 2-3 times, and if it's a real keeper, it see's outdoors as well as indoors. I used to outright abuse my plants in order to see if they make the cut(stress testing) but if I run 40 seeds(average run for me) I wind up with at least 1-3 great fems. Doesn't matter the breeder I pick, just seems like odds are stacked in my favor.
