Amazing stuff... I bet your hubby is well chuffed with himself, haha.

You'll definitely have to get a full picture of the room with the curtain and that..

I wish I could put together rooms like that.. I'm a failure as a man. :P

There's a DIY light weight false wall thread on here. I accidentally stumbled upon it. Ended up reading it, eventhough I can't currently use it. You can still apply the same concepts to more suit your needs. Or give you inspiration on different stealth applications.
Wasn't it Dennis Leary who said something like "I used to love smoking weed. The only thing is, it always made me want to build something." I think it was something to the effect.
I just finished listening to Brian Eno's - "Another green world" era 1975. Sounds like its friggin' current. F'ing guy.

Genius

Soon I too will have a similar basement/nook, stealth lab, I mean setup. ahem.

That's the 'pot doesn't lead to hard drugs, it leads to bad carpentry' routine. Includes the bit about potheads making everything into a bong, with the memorable line: "look I made a bong out of my head."

My hubby is a workaholic also but unfortunately I am still waiting for my grow room,

He says I have to find all the plans here for him but I don't know anything about building. I even have a time limit by tomorrow when he is off work.

Plus I have to find plans or make plans for a drying box.

I hate feeling pressured.

Tell your hubby that I think he did a wonderful job. Lucky girl.:-|

Panhead. he is a workaholic and a tradesman/builder. He can't sit still. He will work all night and then work side jobs in the day. He did not have any side jobs when I got this idea of growing weed so he went to work on my project. I would have been happy with a light in the closet, but he went all out. he is a keeper!

Lacy. I had a similar issue. He said, "You tell me what you want and I will build it." The problem was I did not know what I wanted. I started out with what I knew. In my county I can grow a 10x10 canopy up to 99 plants. So I knew I needed at least a 10x10 area. Then I figured I needed room to walk around in there and a way to divide the room for veg & flower. The finished produce is 11x13. He basically built an empty room and I had to figure out what to do with it. The main thing was putting in enough plugs where I thought I would need them. To maximize my veg space I bought two baker's carts from costco. There are extra shelves so we figured out how to hook them together two make three shelf areas. That became my veg area. I can fit 14 1 gal bags on a shelf and 10 3 gal bags per shelf as they get bigger. I have roughly 50 plants vegging and 2 shelves for clones. We separated the room with a curtain (velcro works great!)

Anyway, I don't know how helpful this is, but if you need help, let me know and I can get you details, etc from my hubby.

Very nice set up Farm Friend...my husband has the talent as well as would allow me to have such a space/and he doesn't smoke (anymore). However, he works his fingers to the bone providing for us that he really doesn't have the time (yet) to have built such an area...anyway...from 1 lucky girl to another....we wouldn't trade them for anything, would we!! How in the world do you hide all that electricty use from the electric companies???I thought about generators to run my lights but then the costs of gas is getting out of hand, ya know....

SmokenGirl. Nope would not trade them hard working hubbies for nothing!

As far as electricity, it has not been too bad. With the 4 floro lights runing 24/7, fan, heater, etc. It went up 100.00 a month. I calculated that when we throw in the 2 HPS at 12/12 it will be another 60.00 per month. Our PG& E has always fluctuated depending on if we use the heat, etc and we have a cabin on our property where my step-son lives. A lot depends on his usage too.

I have a neighbor whose pg&E is at $4000.000+ a month - they are running quite a few 1000 watt HPS. I thought about using our generator in the beginning, but propane is so expensive and it is way too loud. Anyway, I am hoping that financially this will work out and take a load off my hubby.

Thanks for the nice words Stonersreach'n'havic!

Hey Lacy, I like "Farm Chick," better than "farm friend." Thanks for all the compliments. Hey if you were closer I would send him over for a grow room build..LOL..and we could burn one.
Anyway, for ventilation he put in a bathroom fan that vents the air into the rest of the basement. On the outside of the wall is a filter for the smell (It was a DIY - I will look for the website and post the link). On the opposite side of the room he put a vent with a flap that opens when the fan is on to draw air. I will take some pictures tomorrow and post them for you. It is probably easier that trying to describe it. I would do it now, but I can't get down there at the moment. When I get home from work, I will post them for you.

Farm chick it is then.
I like that as well.

That would be so great because hubby is off tomorrow and he wants to know all the stuff that he needs to get and i don't have a clue.
We already have roughed in bathroom plumbing ....
I'll add some pics and hubby wants to kow if he can ventilate it out from there.
He's pretty good at the building but nothing like your guy.
Yes it would be awesome to have a toke together for sure.
I'd love that. i need my girlfriends.

I'll rep you forever for this one.
Its a great thread. Its probably going to be one of those fmaous build it yourself thread.

Your hubby should be proud

Thanks again Farm chick!:mrgreen::blsmoke:

Thanks Enigma and CALIGROWN. He defiantly spoiled me on this one, especially since he does not smoke. But he loves working down there with the babies. It beats the crap out of dinner and a movie.

Anytime you have a question, no problem.
