My oil wont wax, please help

I have tried everything to try to get my oil to wax and it just seems impossible. I am using the strain Third Dimension, both trim and nugs. The trim oil has never been stable at room temp, the nugs oil was though. I blasted into a 150* water bath and let all bubbles pop. I put it into a vacuum chamber at 130* for over 2 days at 23.75hg ( i live at 6000ft). the trim oil is still so unstable and almost watery, its not sticky at all. what am i doing wrong? is it my product? the strain? the nug run i did was sticky but still never waxed even after 2 days in the chamber. if i put the nug oil in the freezer i can get it to lift off of the parchment but right when it hits room temp it gets soft and oily again. any suggestions are appreciated, thanks.

Decarbed or gnarly
Is probly gonna be your answer

Decarbed oil won't wax easily..melting points decrease with more impurities

I know it takes longer to reach vacuume at higher elevations. I run my chamber at 29.5 Hg for 3 hrs. So, it sounds like you have your vacuume nailed. I like my heat below 120f. while keeping in liquid state and then it stops bubbling on it's own. Pull it out and let it cool down. I use a glass cake pan so I need to get it out of that pan before it cools to quickly ( then it gets messy and I get pissed).I have no idea why your stuff is "watery" after 2 days in the chamber. I have also had certain strains turn to budder and would not wax or shatter up after using my same method. I believe the age and types of material (shake, trim, bud) are the most important factors. Good luck!!

It does sound like maybe to much heat was applied when purging. Decarb is what most people do to turn their concentrates into for edibles.

If you did a bho run, maybe winterize it to get that shatter result? It could be strain related too.

Decarbing removes the carboxyl group -cooh from thca as co2 converting it(thca) to thc
Waxing is a complicated process and is hindered by poop and impurities with ranging melting points..
Decarbed stuff will still make shatter just fine though..eventually.. depending on how much poop is in it, but you can turn pipe resin or reclaim into a cookie or shatter through the same drying, losing lighter constituents...waxing and the like are fairly complex and not exactly my expertise
If you want to learn about fluid thermodynamics I suggest a quick read on cavitation and nucleation

Ouch! You really gave that wax a whacking with all that heat.

If you got all the solvent out *(assuming it is peep less) and its still watery after 3 days at vac.

Its likely over done and won't return to a firm state. The molecular structure is damaged, or something to that effect.

Mix it in some XXV coconut oil or food and be done with it.

over heated. Itll still smoke, just less flavor. I think your exaggerating when you say watery. Do you mean watery or taffy?

First of all, i don't know how i could have used to much heat. I live in colorado and i blast outside during night. so when i pour 150* water in a dish that is outside it gets cold pretty fast. It has never been in a "firm" state. I am not exaggerating when i say watery. It is sitting by the window where the temp cant be above 60 and it is still runny. If i lift the paper up by one side i have to quickly grab the other side or else it is going to end up dripping all over the floor. i only spent a hundred bucks for a pound of trim so im not that upset, i just want wax. I don't have any pictures of the trim but i will put up pictures of the nugs and the oil. The guy i got my trim from uses a trim reaper, so the trim is not lacking crystals, it just may have been a little old.

150 degree water is too hot imo. I find about a 4 - 5 degree difference between my water bath temp and inside surface of pyrex dish. Go over 115 for any length of time and your stuck with perma goo oil. Old trim may be decarbed to some degree for starters.

Does look dark. I have had nice blonde oil get too hot for too long, resulting in dark, odorless, fully decarbed goo. Probably had a lotof THC broken down into CBD. Used for cooking. Made intense brownies.

I suspect your 100$ lb of trim was more fan leaves, rather than close sugar trims.

That trim oil will never solidify, just decarb further and use it in edibles.
Do you got pics of the nug run?

The flowers look pretty damn fire, leading me to believe the fan leaf theory.
Because if you had close sugar trim from that same strain..your oil should be DANK!!

How does the oil smell?
Like the flowers?

Good luck, and keep trying.

thr is ur answer machine trim makes shitty oil usually
Depends. Trimpro trim is great IF your plucking fan leaves prior to machine. All that ends up in the bag is sugar leaf. Made superb extractions from these in bubble bags and with butane.

Garbage in, garbage out.

Should the be mantra of anyone who makes concentrates. I'm appalled at the amount of people who are willing to source material from unknown origins to blast...Who knows what kinda nasty shit was sprayed on those plants...For all they know, they could be concentrating myclobutanil(eagle20), avid, or a list of various other nasties that unscrupulous growers have been known to use during flower AGANST EVERYONE'S SUGGESTION.
