My outdoor Garden -Non Cannabis

Hey guys, Im excited to utilize my beautiful outdoor garden my mother used to use. It wraps around the rear 50% of my house, it just needs a little tending to first. Ive grown cannabis since Feb last year, so this is new to me. Im always reading about how to further my knowledge on growing organic cannabis, and about 90% of what comes from this garden will be used for...
-Worm Bin
-Compost
-Top Dressing
-ETC..

First off, Im not 100% sure what I should grow but have a good idea. Im definitely growing a good amount of Comfrey. Im going to use pots and have some in the ground, should be fun! Ill have a list with what I plan to grow, and after the grow starts Ill have a list with everything currently growing.

Do people use cheaper/simpler soils to grow more basic plants?

Any suggestions are welcome, this is mainly just to log my progress and shoot the shit.

Chosen:
Comfrey
Cilantro(IPM)
Rosemary
Catgrass/Nip

Ive been gardening for a few years and have never even went on the route of buying soil. I make all the ammendments i need within reason. I do have some bone and blood meals. Anyway, it seems like you're planning on growing good starter plants that dont require much. If you have horses or cows locally try and introduce yourself as a local gardener. Chances are theyll let you clean up poop for free.... ha. I do that when i need to make a pile of compost. Also, coffee shops will give out sacks or pails of spent grinds to gardeners. There's no red flag saying "hey dope grower" by being a gardener. Dont buy soil, research suatainable agriculture practices if you want to learn how to implement resource recovery.

A basic raised bed mix might look like compost, ash, bone meal, and some type of carbon fluff. I like to go in the woods and move the top layer of straw or leaves away. Then gather the decomposed top lay into a container to mix in the soil.

A potted mix looks like 1part compost, 1 part sandy loam dirt from wherever the heck, 1 part carbon of whatever is around (peatmoss is nice too), and 1 part vermicasting. Add some bacteria culture if you do that sorta thing and ammend it more for older plants.

Cheers, gardening is fun!
