when i was 13 i was doing roofing and asphalt work at 14...i done hot mop roofing when i was 15.i was in the army when i was 17. untill 20. i think the military is good for some young men who have no work experience ...the military is good for developing focus..drive...and ambition .the physical and mental conditioning will last you a life time..you will be in good health for years to come from the physical conditioning. every young man needs to be in physical prime condition.
the military will teach you what your physical and mental limitations are. if you can withstand it for a few years you will learn there is nothing you cant do..nothing you cant over come.
some of the best businessmen i know are former military. they just dont quite .

All I can realize from reading all of this is that some people have no fucking clue how hard it is to find a job right now. I bet everyone of these people that told you to grow up, grow some balls and get a job , move out. They all have jobs already. unemployment is ridiculously high 15% in my state thats just people drawing unemployment ok not the ones that cant anymore never could or never had a job to begin with. and guess what all of those people they are looking for jobs right now same as you were in a recession employers sometimes cant afford to hire anyone new because there struggling to even get shit off shelves or there is a lack of a demand for there product or service. We are all swimming in an ocean of hungry fish bro and there isn't many worms left. No one that has a job right now could ever understand how fucking hard it is right now to find one. those folks can kiss my ass kiss-assthat being said If you dont have a job. It is your job to get a job you should be on that shit 9-5 5-6days a week until you get one. but I understand where your at man it sucks Its a desperate situation that can make you do things you normally wouldn't think of, disrespectful things like growing in your parents place. Having a plant to take care of can give hope though and a reason to get up in the morning If you have nothing else. Hope that you might obtain some cash through your own hard work.

God forbid, but there's always a McDonalds..... :-/ At least some form of inflow. Or check craigslist for manual labor! People HATE doing manual labor, you can make some quick cash doing it tho!
I chopped up logs for 3 weeks last summer just to make some extra cash. It sucked, but was worth it! lol

come on man I moved out when I was 18 but most of my friends still lived at home and were unable to do so for whatever reasons school job/money issues to say the right thing to do would have been throw him out is a little crazy now in his parents eyes hes a homeless drug addict
You shouldn't bring "drugs" in mom and dads in the first place, unless you have a perscription, with no perscription, you are a DRUG ADDICT! I hate that so if I smoke a bowl today with no prescription im a drug addict but tomorrow if I get the ok from a DR. im no longer a drug addict cause the dr said so ... im still doing the same thing I was always doing

I remember when I was in high school and my mom found all my bongs and pipes. I came home from school that day and she asked me is that your bongs and pipes I found. I was like ohh shit i'm busted. Then I just said yes mom it's all mine and she didn't even seem mad. She was glad that I told her the truth and didn't want me hiding anything. The same day I asked her if I could grow and sure as shit she said yes. She rather me not spend money on it. She also told me about when she used to experiment with drugs and she told me she didn't consider weed a drug. I still did my experimenting but ended up loving herb soo much it's the only habit that actually stayed.

Your parents have a right to their opinion, just like you can think what you want about them. More importantly, they have the right to make the rules ... for now. It's not easy to move out on your own and pay your own way in life! But that's exactly what you're going to have to do if you want to live by your own rules. Sucks, but we have ALL had to do it.
Calling you a loser will FORCE you to make changes in your life, one way or the other. Your parents know this. You will have to move out or change your habits. Your parents KNOW this. The next move is yours sir.
They don't honestly believe you are a loser, or else they would have tossed you out into the snow right then and there. They just called you a name that would cause you to THINK and make some changes in your life. Exactly what those changes are, is entirely up to you. Don't take it personally (I know that's hard to do). They want you to grow up, and sometimes a hard slap in the face is what it takes. Take it like a man! It won't be the last slap you receive.

I call bullshit on you being 19 years old.
What do you mean that they wouldnt let you move out when you tried,if you truly wanted to move out you would just split & being 19 yrs od there wouldnt be anything anybody could say.
Seems like your also putting alot of worry into a drug test that they may make you take over this which is not something a parent of a 19 year old man would try to pull off,especially when that parent refuses to let the 19 yr old leave home.
If you really are overage & your mom & dad are still hovering over your every move like a child than you have bigger fish to fry than hiding a stealth closet grow.

Do you think your generation is the 1st to live through & try to find work in the midst of a recession ? from your post it is clear that you do think that way.
Some of us with myself included live in the same state as you but went through much rougher economic times than your generation is going thru now,times in the early 80's where the Big 3 automakers permenantly laid off several hundred thousand workers in a months time ,those laid off workers were in direct competition for jobs at Mcdonalds with teenagers.
I dont care how damm bad the economy is,if a man truly wants a job he will find one & it wont take being out of work for 18 months either.
The people you mention who have never had a job could it be possible that they dont want to work,or that they fit their job hunting efforts in between texting friends & posting multiple thousands of responses on message boards ?
Any young folk reading this who TRULY WANT TO WORK listen up beacuse myself & others like myself are the one's who hire/fire your generation,if you want to find a job quickly here is what to do.
1 Give up posting applications online & wasting time f ing around looking for work online cause it aint gonna happen,online jobs are filled by employees who fit specific job skills with high levels of experience.
2 Get a whole new wardrobe of work wear,leave those big ass blousy britches that can fit 3 people in them at home & put on a pair of regular levi jeans,just the fact that you are not dressed like bozo the clown in big silly pants like most other young people will make you stand out.
3 Learn how to use the word's yes sir when answering questions from elders,it's a sign of respect that most young people have not been taught how to use & will once again make you stand out above the rest.
4 Forget about filling out applications at noon,get your ass out at 5am & start hitting factories,construction companys & landscape companies.
5 Show up ready to work that day & not in tennis shoes but work boots.
6 Ask to speak in person to managers,supervisors & superintendants,then when you do get a face to face act like an adult who desperately needs a paycheck yesterday & is willing to work a week free to show how damm serious you are about working.
In the time it took to post over 1,700 resposnes on this site alone a job could have easily been landed,its a matter of getting one's priorities in order vs blaming the shitty job market for not getting a job.

Did you grow up with an abusive parent? Abusers don't build self confidence, they destroy it.
Worst recession since the Great Depression, that's effecting the WORLD economy.
You also might want to stop talking to people like you know them, unless you actually do. I know college grads who follow your rules and are still unemployed or underemployed. It might surprise you to learn that your job market isn't representative of every area of the nation.

I'm not trying to rationalize not finding work or remaining in an abusive relationship of any kind. I'm saying that continuing to be abusive and insulting the boy isn't going to do one single positive thing for him. It's going to reinforce what his abuser has led him to believe about himself. Constructive criticism is needed. Act like you're talking to a real person instead of hiding behind a computer screen saying things that would get you punched in the mouth in real life.

yeah man.. get a job. there's gotta be some kind of sandwich shop down the street or somewhere in town or ANY kind of job. then go on craigslist, if you have no friends willing to room with you, and look for roommates and split the cost with them for an apartment
