Ongoing Problem

My plants never seems to finish

This plant seed popped 12/07/16

I finally bought a scope and am checking the plant under the BML SPYDR 600 every day. 99% of pistils are red, but trichs aren’t even cloudy. Same issue under my Amare P3 SE 220 and SE 250

I dumped nutes yesterday, now getting < 100pm water

Light hours 11:15

Would dialing back the amount of light help?

The SPYDR has 6 bars, one I sent back for repair, so currently 5. Since each bar of the SPYDR is on a separate pigtail, do you think dropping back to say 3 bars (even 2 bars) would help the plant finish?

I'd go by the hairs and pull it, sounds like a genetics thing unless it's everything you're flowering which would be very strange. Even under blurples my plants would eventually finish and you have some legit lights there. If it's specific to the strain/pheno you could try dropping the cycle down further to finish up quicker but if you're already at 11:15/12:45 so maybe 10/14?

Probably genetic. I had this same last year, concerning a Blue OG x GDP cross. This particular pheno went over 100 days into flowering and still the count was 90%+ clear, despite the buds being swollen and pistols red/brown and retracted! I eventually dumped that particular pheno and grew one of her sisters and she goes 90%+ cloudy in under 44 days. If I had to guess, the reason for it is some trait after the sativa (probably the Thai in my case) in its lineage. Best advice is to dump it and look for another variety to grow.

Thanks. Your grows are looking better and better

well, I only finally got a scope last grow (same seed genetics)

Yesterday, I dropped light period another 15 minutes, but you're right, I will drop it closer to 10/14

will monitor a few days, then decide

Thinking to begin harvesting the bottom now while I watch the top

Maybe that will scare the shit out of her lol

Stay current much?

12/12, like many grow tidbits is an old wives tale that was corrected a long time ago. Think of it as pre-science

If I went 12/12 it would be worse as the plant would not have any photo indication to finish
12/12 is an old wives tale? I'm the luckiest grower here I guess. been using 12/12 for years all my girls finish right about the time the breeder says it would. me and my lucky ass eh.

good growing!

Are we fucking stupid here or what, put your plant on 12/12 they're not finishing becuase you have them on a 10/15 schedule wtf? 12/12 a wives tale? Are you serious? There are other method of inducing flower, but 12/12 is tried and true.

A wives tale, are you serious? 12/12 making a plant worse. Is this a joke or just amateur hour.

Boatguy, thanks. That makes me feel better, but...

I shut the light off a little while ago

I'll scope it for a couple days to see whether any trichs get cloudy, then decide whether to turn the light back on

Just need another strain I guess. Some just never seem to fully ripen no matter how you cut the hours back. I have strains that just keep putting out new white pistils even after 10 weeks flowering and 8 hours light the last two weeks. Was pretty much the same as 12 but got weaker. Takes a long time to find a strain that performs the way you want.

I find strains with small trichomes often tend to stay clear all the time. The fat trich strains are the ones that whiten up or even amber. I have a White Cookies plant that has tiny clear trichs even when every hair is browned out. Not all that potent either. Lots of strains around that aren't worth the space and power.

My g13 haze was 60 to 90 days flowering acording to the breeder. So 100 doesnt seem that odd to me.
Maybe it's just a strain that doesnt go amber, or a long flowering sativa.
did that breeder say to use 12/12 lighting for flowering, or op's 11/15 ?
