Whatsup Rasta...

So you've got some heat problems. I don't need to tell you that temps of 90°F+ are just too high. What sort of ventilation system do you have? That's where you'll need to focus your attention to get those temps down. You want to keep it under 80°F with the lights on, and about 70° with the lights off. Let me know about your ventilation setup and we'll go from there.

hey man..
i brought the temps down to 88F..
i threw in a huge fan & put it on MED..
it's blowing towards the lights..

i have one single outtake using a computer fan..
& i have one single intake using a computer fan..
they work well with two 100W daylights..
but ever since i threw in a small 3500k bulb..
it kind of raised the temps drastically..

i don't know what else to do..
i can't cut anymore holes in my grow box.. lol
so i don't know how i'm going to resolve this situation.. :(

lookin great man, I HAVE to get my shit in some good soil this weekend. I got a good tip on the plant problems page, I think its because its not getting enough fresh air. I am leavin the dresser open and working on gettin a fan this weekend to see if my babys like to breath hahaha.

Looks like yours is going to pass mine :(

okay, so i have a bit of a problem..
it's the morning of day eight for my plant..
her roots are growing out of the drainage holes..
i thought this 5" deep pot would be okay for her..
but, obviously it's not deep enough for her..

so, i got a 9" deep pot from my neighbor..
& it's only 4" deeper than my last pot..
does anyone think, i would need a deeper pot?
if so, it won't be able to happen..
my growbox is only 23" in height..
subtracting 4-5" for the lights hanging down..
leaving only 18" left of height..
then subtracting another 9" inches..
leaving 9" of grow space for my plant..

i don't know what to do..
or HOW i'm going to safely transplant..
does anyone have any suggestions?
i was thinking about cutting the old pot..
from the bottom & pushing from the bottom up..
holding the soil in place & gently placing it into the bigger pot..
but, it's easier said than done..

anyway.. any opinions & comments are appreciated..
+REPS to those who can help me..

PIC1 shows the root coming out the drainage hole..
PIC2 shows the pot..
PIC3 shows the inside of the pot..

lookin good man! looks kinda like one of my plants. transplanting is easy. the soil should be moist but not just watered, so it stays together. put your hand on the soil with the plant stem between your middle and ring finger, and just invert the pot. it will slide right out most likely, then just put it into your new pot.
just make sure you have enough soil in the new pot so you can set it right in at the right depth.

^ yeah, i just did the transplant..
it was pretty easy, the soil fell right out..
they stayed stuck together.. so.. it was okay..

anyway, i just transplanted my plant..
during her sleep time..
i think she was a little root bound..
her roots were somewhat cluttered down the bottom..
like they had no growing space, so they grew up along the pot..
good thing i transplanted her the second i got scotts potting soil..
i took out all the sticks & bark pieces before i used the soil..
& added some scotts perlite also for better drainage..

pictures will follow up shortly..
once it's morning.. day ten for her :D

man i dunno.... IMHO i think you will be alright for a while. I just was looking at a guys grow with a little tupperware container maybe half that with a foot and a half tall plant a month into flowering showing no ill effects of being root bound.

Your roots really are looking for spots but in the current pot you have probably are far from being root bound. Either way, it may be a difficult transplant. If you are able to cut into the pot I would think maybe to cut it completely in half, top to bottom, accoss the bottom, bottom to top like an apple cut in half. It should be easier to take the "shells" out from each side and leave it intact when putting in the new pot.

I would imagine it would be difficult doing it at this stage because though the roots will be growing out the bottom they still have a lot of room to grow.

In comparison, I grew a plant a while ago that ended up being a full two feet tall (or more?) with that same exact sized pot you have shown above. It did not get root bound and show any ill effects until it was that height, so I would not be concerned at this point.

Anyone with more experience chime in?

****EDIT - damn it, i read that post without scrolling down and seeing you already transplanted! Shit im not even smoking and i got confused.............

Maybe i need more sleep.......

^ lol :)

here she is after transplant..
she's now on day eleven (morning time for her)
three more days & she will be two weeks old..

everything's going really well..
i don't think she knows i transplanted her..
i transplanted her in the dark with a green light..
i was just taking precautions trying not to stress her AT ALL!

although, when i transplanted her..
she got a lot of dirt on her leaves & on the main stem..
also, A LOT of dirt covering her side shoots..
i dusted off as much as i possibly could..
there's still some dirt/soil on her main stem & leaves..
but, oh well.. it shouldn't mess with her too much..

comments/opinions are appreciated

my baby is now 12 days old (morning time for her)
i changed the lights around & dropped my temps to 84F..
my temps were at 90F+ which is why i changed it up..

anyway, she's doing fine..
she didn't realize i transplanted her..
so, she's just growing everyday
