yo man seriously dont listen to anyone here

1. put them in a wet paper towel then fold it up put it in like a plastic cup or whatever put some water in bottom of cup then put it in your closet.
2. when you see roots pop put them with the ROOTS DOWN into the soil, rockwool, pellet or w.e your using.

you wont need nuts until you see the 2-3rd set of leaves come out.

worked for me for everything from tomatoes to peppers, male or female.

if i were you since your new i would use what WORKS not what people experiment with. heck you could even throw them in soil and let them pop but to be honest i got like a 50/50 doing it that way.

but from what that guys said to put them in with the white side pointing up and from the image that was posted.....there are two totally different scenarios. Trust me with cannabis it wont develop its 2nd set of leaves if the roots are not grounded properly.

oh and " This is one of the best guides to germination I've ever read and what I've followed for years."

these are some good products to use esp for cannabis, http://www.cannagardening.com/node/1394
or you could get some miracle whatever i personally wouldn't use that trash.

put about 1/3 or even 1/4 nutrients into water (if using tap water let it sit out for 24 hours so chlorine could evaporate)mix it all up make sure you adjust your PH levels.

water your plants till soil is fairly moist and get a tiny bit of runoff. (make sure your run off ph is about 5.8-6.1 if its not on point exactly dont worry soil is pretty forgiving)
keep them in 18on and 6off light cycle using CFLs 65k light output recommended (try to get the big 85w ones they put out about 4,800lumens)

oh and if you want a good reco for soil get "foxfarms ocean forest"

if you want some videos to watch ill send them to you just pm me.

i read that whole jorge cervantes mj horticulture book but i still have lots of questions and things that need to be cleared up... Really want this to work. I'm using white widow seeds i got from a friend before i use the fancy indica genetics i bought online for mucho $$.

About the bag i put over the tray... Does it matter how high up it is? I mean should it be stretched tight just over the surface of the dirt cubes or be high up close to the light (which i have about 4-5 inches above the tray).

i got u man seems like your questions still havent been answered
just water the medium once befrore you plant germinated seed don't water it again untill soil dries (only reason u would add nutes is if your adjusting ph of medium before planting)
you won't probably need to add nutes till around day 12-15 (personal exp)
keep under a light 24/7 or 18/6 n u don't need no stupid dome thing either waste of money only use when cloning
i veg under a cfl 24/7 untill i will start flowering
and don't have it hella humid your girls will be hot think about it would u want to sit in a sauna all day???? Lol kauze mold n stress!

Ps don't buy the dvd either sucks doesn't go into detail its like he expects u to be all knowing pretty sure book is the same lol

hope u give me some good rep off this lol!!! But its all good just tryna help bekauze i'm against the middle man!!! They are alwayz taxing the shit out of us!!! You have to bekome your own boss thats y u growing right!!

One of my seeds is under soil now, got my fingers crossed. I'm waiting for 2 other seeds to crack open, those are not good strains, they will probably go in natural light

Thanks white for that book. Old school writing. I like the book posted above because it showed from day one to harvest what was going on. Ive already read a lot of your contribution.

Pretty lucky day, a tiny nug from my Jack Herer was hiding 3 seeds! I've gotten JH from the same place for a few months now and it's never had a single seed.

Thank you Jack Herer, RIP

i know this is rather late to post however the season for so cal is rapidly approaching. the method i have used, which was taught to me to two seasoned grow masters is simple yet effective; get your handy ol paper towel and get moist, almost to where water will drop off it but not that wet.... i suggest you use one folded twice with the seeds in the middle. place those in a ziploc baggy, place that on your window seal and within a few days theyll crack and grow, ive always waited for the the lil bugger to grow before i place them in my medium. no need for me to change no matter how bad some may say that method is, i dont fix what aint broke

Hello friend. A new grow can be daunting. Starting plants from seed and moving forward from this stage is relatively straight forward should you consider the following suggestions and advice I wrote for a previous article.

Starting the Seeds

During germination the seed awakens from its dormancy. Water is vitally important here, for as soon as the seed has absorbed an adequate amount of water, the seedling begins to create its root system. Next it breaks through its outer shell.

Preparation:
Place some damp paper towels on a plate. Place the seeds on top of them and then put a layer of damp paper towels on the seeds. Cover the plate with another upturned plate so that the seeds are in darkness and the environment remains moist. Place the covered seeds in a warm (21 deg C 69.8 deg F) spot. Check the seeds every day, wetting the paper towel when necessary. Transplant the seeds when they open and the root tip can be seen. Gently place the seed in a rockwool propagating block (2x2 or 4x4cm), to a depth of approximately 5mm. Carefully cover the opening with rockwool and moisten the block once more.

Care:
Frequently sprinkle the rockwool blocks with water. Ensure that the blocks do not become too wet. The seedling uses the spare food present in the seed for growth development. Oxygen is essential for its metabolism. One of the advantages of rockwool is that it retains a high percentage of air. Ensure that the blocks are not standing in water and that the excess water is able to drain away freely. Rockwool propagating blocks have an optimal climate for the seeds. Keep the seeds warm and damp (21 deg C 69.8 deg F) in a sturdy propagating box. Remove the cover immediately the seedlings grow above the rockwool blocks.

Young plants:
The young plants at this stage are still very fragile. Do not therefore place them in direct sunlight or below a 400 watt lamp. Ideally place them under fluorescent bulbs, colour Philips 33. Position the light system 5-10cm above the plant tops.

Not only the humidity, but also the temperature is essential when germinating.

A high air temperature forces the seedlings to grow upwards. All the available nourishment will be used for this purpose while the seedling should be utilising its energy for the development of roots. Bottom heating is therefore essential. The best way for the seedlings to take root is at a bottom temperature of 21-24 deg C (69.8 - 75.2 deg F). The speed of the root development is very important. The longer the seedlings take to root, the greater the chance they will not survive.

As the first roots have become visible you can gradually increase the EC to 1.2ms.

Hope this helps.
