Basics:600w digital ,3 1/2 by 3 1/2 by 5 1/2 diy tent. Air cooled hood. 200cfm inline.

So I'm moving my tent from closet to headroom for who cares reasons... so now il be exhausting my hot air out of a window. I live on a second floor apartment and there's always air conditioning or some noise so that won't be an issue unless it whistles lol.I can just stick a vent out the window because of faces 100s of people a day. So this is my plan.

I want to make it to where I can vent out of the window when it's open a half inch or less.the only materials I'm using are bendy straws. box tape.cardboard.coffee. sorry for my awful sketch lol.

I already made the part that will actually stick out of the window. I made 9, 3 straw bundles to create the 1/2 inch separation and taped them to the cardboard. That's the fabricated piece u see. Hopefully my diagram will explain the rest.thank you for any input.

...just vent the tent into the house and you should be fine, ...venting a grow space directly out a window creates a hotspot easily visible to any LEO with a FLIR setup.

peace, bozo

bendy straws? Are you serious? You can't get something better from the HVAC section at a big hardware store? Sounds incredibly inefficient. Exhaust it into the room and cool the room with a window fan. Id imagine you could run them in reverse or just flip them backwards.

And don't worry about FLIR. Police don't go around scanning random houses for tent grows. I don't think your straws would register on the scanner anyway. They'd be busting a lot of clothes dryers if it did. Not to mention it is deemed an illegal search and wouldnt hold up in court.

If there's always air conditioners running you could use a portable air conditioner exhaust. Some of the portable air conditioners even run and intake and exhaust out of the same window. And if anyone asks you can say " It's my portable Ac unit" lol. Venting inside will work to, just make sure that you have a good carbon scrubber, smell will bust you way before someone noticing that you have something odd in your window.

Ended up just venting into another room. Thank you everyone tho. Got my temps 4 degrees over room temp so I'm satisfied.

I have the same problem being the window is a main walk way. I wasn't thinking to use bendy straws though, lol. A+++ for creativity and effort.

My plan was to build a box and mount that to the window with some books or something in it. Then side mount the ducting. But after my thought process slowed down. I am just planning to vent into my room since I have a window A/C unit.
